well, nude records were in the red, but they sent lowgold on
tour, then nude records couldnt pay the debts/fees so all of
lowgold's equipment was seazed while in storage, as nude
records payment FOR the storage. So that's another decent
band RUINED by their record company

incredible...
anyway i thought of just giving some artist some money as
appreciation for their stolen mp3´s.
maybe i open a webpage for donations to artists and every
donation is rewarded by a printable cover download or
similar gimmicks.

do you know artists that would cooperate,
by sending covers or so..?

covers are downlable too :P On net I saw every cover of
aphex albums already, but i don't know how is it going to
other artists. but do covers have much influence on the work
value?

Actually, I believe the cost of tours and studioes is paid
by the artists themselves. The companies just act as if the
artist isn't paying for it--it's the reason these new
popstars aren't going to be make a heck of a lot of money
after their fame--no-one tells them that they are paying for
it all. So, exactly what do the record companies pay for?

Yeah, I actually forgot to put that bit in my post! You can
end up bankrupt if you don't realise that the studio costs
£100 an hour or whatever. Don't sell enough albums and you
can't cover your costs - you're fucked! (See Jack's post).
The record companies are just good for the initial capital.

...And as you said, these days it is possible for regular
guys and dolls to build up their own studioes...bit by bit.
So these motherfucking capitalist schweine are DOOMED,
doomed I tell ya! Hoorah!!! :D
