oh well excuse me, mr. i-take-everything-literally-morton ;-)
I never knew you paid such close attention to the threadtitles and gave exactly the right reply ;-)
But okay, if that's your point than i have to agree with you. "appreciation should go out to the dudes who make the music imo"
hm... yeah, i think so too. But perhaps you should say "admiration should go out to the dudes who make the music."
I think to "appreciate" something, can also mean just that you like it.
"i like justin timberlake" = "i appreciate justin timberlake"
That's how i read it anyway.
But you do have a point, justin didn't create the brilliant music, he's not the guy i admire. (altough i do believe he wrote all the lyrics himself? Don't know for sure though... and they didn't sound very interesting ;-))
"...well then appreciation should go out to the bald-fat-and-smelly guy, 'cause he makes the great music :)"
yes... again i agree with you, but i still say the word "appreciation" may have more possible interpretations. Not sure how theo meant it, but nevermind. I can see now that it's not because justin didn't write the music himself that you don't like it. And that was really all i was protesting against.

most people would interpret the thread title as the appreciation of the music of justin timberlake.. there shouldn't have been a need for my posting that.
if you listen to some of the neptunes tracks, it is pretty clear that the neptunes also wrote most of the lyrics.. maybe they gave him a writing credit though? I dont know.. he could have had some input beyond choosing producers

That no talent little jacko wannabee twat doesn't merit a thread of any kind. He can bring in as many producers as he wants, be as controversial as he likes - his music is still shit. The neptunes are vastly overrated as that self indulgent piece of jazz-wank "in search of ..." clearly displays.

I thought it would be funny that a timberlake thread would appear in a forum like this. and given the response from many people agreeing with my liking of his album (regardless of who's responsible for it- he or the production team) .. maybe the lil' twat did merit a thread afterall

come on timberlake's not THAT bad a singer, y'all just some cynical muthas. he's not my cup of tea either but he has some talent and i can see why people like his voice. it's not one of the best i've heard by any means but he certainly deserves to be a recording artist (some) people know about.
also, he does write a lot of the lyrics from what i understand.

oddly enough, i approach her death in a aerospace appreciation sort of way.
once again, a captain caves to the demands of his SLF (self loading freight) and overloads his plane.
I believe they lost an engine on take-off, which in a lite twin is barely survivable @ MTOW (Maximum Take-0ff Weight) any way.
With an overloaded plane like that, you barely have a chance to even put down straight ahead.
For shame, another General Aviation mishap for no good reason :(

death is no laughing matter, and aaliyah died only 2 years ago. not only was she very close to missy, timbaland, and others, but she (1) died because of other people's mistakes (ie: the pilot, the record label, etc.), and (2) she died really young.

you can't fully blame the pilot here, I'm enclined to dig up the NTSB report and see what they ruled.
however, imagine being a pilot of a small plane, and these famous people want to load all their shit onto it.
You say no, and they call your boss, who in a small op like this, is going to bite your head off, or you overload past MTOW and eat shit if ANYTHING goes wrong.
You can put 100% of the blame on the pilot for agreeing with their demands, but her group forced the issue, if they just listend to the Pilot, it wouldn't have been as big of an issue.
----------- In any event, I need to stress that an engine out in a small twin airplane like that is a SHITTY situation.
There is usually not enough thrust to maintain level flight when you are heavy @ takeoff, let alone climb to avoid obstacles.
That is a situation where generally you just force it down straight ahead and hope it's soft :(

I don't mind Justin Timberlake at all... all his singles I've enjoyed!!
You guys badmouth JT because he doesn't do his own music, but gets the neptunes and timbalind to do it... but isn't that just the way it is in all of rap nowadays? It doesn't seem like any rapper out there actually does their own music... I was watching the MTV Music Video Awards for a little bit last night, and Missy Elliot won an award... I have heard so much about her recently, about how adventurous she is with her music and stuff... but during her speetch she thanked Timbalind and said he's the guy who does all her music... so how is she adventurous? Because she likes some cool, "out there" beats that other people come up with? Come on, that's lame... writing a lyric is simple... the music is what makes the song, and nowadays it doesn't seem like any so called "artist" writes their own music...

i didn't fully blame the pilot but he is definitely one of the reasons the flight crashed
justin's learning some instruments (guitar, bass, synth i think) but who cares? plenty of singers don't play any instruments and they get plenty of credibility. justin writes some of his lyrics (not that any of them are deep that i've heard) but again a lot of singers didn't/don't write their words and get our respect (dave gahan and layne staley are two that come to mind as singers usually fitting this description).
p.s. funk, missy was being modest.. she co-produces her music w/ timbaland (and does her own producing for others), but i'm sure it's mostly tim's ideas.. dude is brilliant
