btw, i don't think you're an idiot ;-) I've never seen
anything by black dog in a recordstore either.

If you are really desperate and can't find those cd's
anywhere else, you could always mail them
(info@rare-records.com) and ask if they'd be willing to send
to the US. But i imagine finding an american mail-order
would be more convenient for you.

dutch and german are indeed somewhat similar... but only
somewhat though.

C'mon George, there's a link to a Plaid discography on this
very thread! 'Booc' is really cool (only on vinyl tho) and
the Peel Sessions are great, but they haven't released the
second part... you can get it on mp3 however.

well i have p-brane, and my roommate (wel 'huisgenoot'
actually) has all their albums, so i know most of their
stuff

but i think i don't like it that much 'cause of (as you also
said) it's often so 'happy',
i'm not saying it isn't good music, but afx, æ, vsnares
etc. which are imo more 'serious' do more for me

same counts for radiohead, i like their last two albums very
much, 'cause it's also serious and melancholic, imo they
really put 'feeling' into their music
don't know how to explain exactly :\

:)

rommate ('huisgenoot') --> Erronous

yes, i've looked at those discographies, but i still haven't
been able to figure out if "trainer" is all i really need
from Black Dog. Or if i should get the original Black Dog
releases.

I don't like vinyl, so no Booc for me i'm afraid. But maybe
i can get the peel sessions somewhere :-)

Morton I agree with you, especially on the Radiohead
part...but isn't it nice to be happy sometimes?

Usually things I write are in minor keys because Major are
just too damn happy

i usually also prefer the dark and melancholic and serious
stuff.

I was actually quite excited when i discovered plaid... at
last some happy and optimistic music that also appealed to
me :-)

Radiohead are awesome... you can't explain their music,
because words simply can't describe it. In theory it's only
a band playing music with a great singer. But when you
actually hear it... it's so much more than that!

Your housemate has great taste though ;-)

If you're looking for those black dog releases you should
take a look at Waaghals recordshop in Arnhem..

I still think Trainer is their best release.

"at Waaghals recordshop in Arnhem.. "

In a recordstore i can listen before i buy :-D Beats
ordering records for sure! Maybe i'll head up there
sometime, thanks for the tip :-)

*bump*

6th Feb, 2004

Just bought this album today, as my second Plaid release,
after Double Figure.

Sensational release!! I also picked up a copy of Amber (an
ae release i was missing), and boc's music has the right to
children (This will be my first boc release).

Haven't heard Amber and MHTRTC, they're on the way a bit
later!

Great record, shame Plaid's last effort was so forgetable.

I think I'll put it on now.

I love this album. Ralome is one great track! It's pretty
different from Spokes, and i spokes too a lot, it's more
serious (black dog style) but these tracks on RPC are just
so nice to listen to. I prefer RPC over double figure. In
fact, i never really got into double figure...

I don't like RPC as much as Double Figure or spokes myself.
Last Remebered Thing is my fave from RPC :)
