I have to admit, I did buy a seperate DVD drive for the
living room. I didn't want to permanently have the PS2's
cables plugged into the front sockets of my TV, and I also
found that on some DVDs the lip-sync wasn't good. But I
didnt come across any disks that didn't work.

Cabbog: As much as you like the XBOX and you obviously do,
XBOX is slowly but surely going to disapear down the
'console toilet' - nobody is buying it! When it comes to
games consoles Microsoft as a newcomer to this field, just
doesn't belong up there with Nintendo, Sega and Sony, and
that's not disputing the fact that it isn't good (besides
there's a harddrive available for PS2 soon......however...)
. .. its just a fact. The sales of XBOX is an embarrasment
for Microsoft in this country.

Give it a chance! It's been out for about 6-7 months and
has nothing but shit games from so far. Developers are just
now starting to realize the awesome potential of the
Xbox(Morrowind or Halo anybody?) . This is Microsoft's
first console, unlike Sony and Nintendo who have been in the
business for years i.e. Microsoft's terribly unexperienced
in comparison with the competition. Give it a few months
more though and I guarantee you'll change your tune. In
fact, if the Xbox isn't above the PS2 and Gamecube by
Christmas I'll willingly spread my cheeks and take your
lightsabre up the ass.

sega isn't making hardware anymore (I think the
megadrive/genesis was their last successful console, no
worries however as they are now making games for just about
every platform, including nintendo of course, (who would
have guesed that one back in the day?)

I like Gameboy Advance more than the 128 bitters. Better
games... 2-D old school portable SNES, pretty much.

I love the old games too, but I'm not really sure I want to
shell out £25-£30 for games I already own on the SNES.

I just use emulators, it's better than the real thing.
Although ''purists'' will disgree... disregarding the fact
that these ARE the original games, 100%...

And there's no mess, hundreds of ROMs safely tucked away on
your computer. Saving anytime is a godsend, as well.

Do you know what I am seriously, seriously considering now?

I'm thinking of buying an N64 (second hand) to replace the
one I sold last year. I can connect that up to my TV
upstairs, and play my PS2 on the tv downstairs...
