I've often encountered that from people, that they are scared to socialise with people from work in case they say or do the 'wrong' thing. I've lived with people I've worked with and so long as I get on with them, the fact they're a colleague doesn't bother me. My view is that even though you have to be in work to earn money, there's no reason to make it less pleasant than it need be. I find having a few real friends at work (rather than just "work buddies") makes it much more enjoyable.
I think you have to fuck up pretty spectacularly to really offend people. I've known colleagues to have fist fights at work socials and not be sacked over it.

I don't know how to make it more enjoyable. I am too restrained. This behaviour is deeply ingrained inside my brain.
I also think my life is kinda pointless, so i am getting more more ignorant about my job.

Have you tried talking to people about their interests? You might find someone as equally into music (perhaps even with similar tastes to your own) as you are. The main guy I collaborate with musically was someone I met through work. I overheard him talking about a mixing desk and asked what sort of music he was into.

Don't you like it when you talk with someone who likes the same music as you? Share some recommendations of tracks/artists with them and discover new music from them?
Steve McQueen: I like Greer, this isn't the first time she has shown she has a sense of humour. Way too many feminists take themselves too seriously, which ironically, makes me take them less seriously.

"vagina refers to the cannal only, the c word, refers to the whole thing, the whole box and dice"
Priceless. :D
Hadn't seen the vid before (although I have studied the etymology of that particular word before, because I was fascinated with the conflicting stories behind its origins).

Oh incidentally, the new EU ruling on insurance premiums no longer being able to be loaded based on gender? Good or bad for feminism? Discuss.

Women, statistically speaking, really do live longer. So from an insurance point of view, I don't see any problems.
Question: if certain diseases were race dependent. And someone from such a race wants to insure against said disease, would it be moral to demand higher premiums based on race alone?

I think it's a good idea, because unlike most other things they base premiums on, your gender, like your race as goDel points out, is something you have no control over. I think people would go batfuck insane if their insurance premium was weighted based on their race. Why should gender be any different? There's also the whole transsexual issue to consider. Should a post-op "female", who might legally be recognised as a female, get the same discount as someone born female.
From a feminism POV, you could take it either way; you could say that it is removing another barrier between men and women as being perceived as equals. Conversely, it could be argued that you women are being unfairly punished (or at least financially penalised) for men's actions. Although that latter argument relies upon creating a sexist "your whole gender" category that you fit in, which seems contrary to the original principles of feminism (although I'm familiar with the camp within feminism that claims "pretending" the sexes were equal was a necessary lie to get equal rights and once women had (have) them, they can set about emphasising the differences.
