A friend of mine was putting up equipment on the club
"Villa" around 300m from the explosion, he and one more guy
came out before the roof collapsed. But a few injured
there.. Villa must most likely be demolished.

Hey no reason to get sand in your trap. For all I could

And I do have [some of] the facts. Like this bombing taking
place on a Government Holiday when those buildings were
(nearly) empty. Or the fact that the explosion took place
underground.

Alan is jivverdicker, he's had plenty of troll practice.

But this time I think he actually makes a good point: there
is no justification for 9/11 truther type conspiracy
theories in this situation-- it takes an individual that is
severely fucked up in the head to kill 90+ kids.

Let's just assume for now that it was just one crazy piece
of shit before going all infowars conspiracy on this.

offline revpersona from Plainfield (United States) on 2011-07-24 04:48 [#02418065]

Alan is Jivverdickhead, no surprise. He has about 10 people
he can troll on here.

Infowars conspiracy (gatekeeping website to say the least)?
I myself find it hard to believe that this "Anders" was able
to rig such a huge explosion (underground) and kill 80+
people on an island. I never once said he didn't commit
these atrocities. For all we know he could be a patsy or
like I said a provocateur.

I looked up some old forum posts by this man from early
2010, and from reading them you would get ZERO indication he
was messed up. I am not saying that he wasn't, but shame on
anyone who points the finger at me for bringing up the point
that others could be (most likely) be involved.

why is it hard to believe? there are several survivors
who've given a pretty grisly account of his tactics on that
island. Why would they lie? He was able to get the
fertilizer for the bomb on account of his involvement with
some farm (he may have even owned the farm, I guess). Why
jump to conspiracy conclusions?

To me it seems like you're looking for evidence (the
government was on holiday) to fit your notions of
governments being evil entities. I remember you came out
with some strong libertarian positions in the past (I'm
generally libertarian too), but you can't always fit a round
peg in a square hole.

Anyway RIP all you little dudes in Oslo. Cx, I've seen you
lurking around, glad you're ok. Gotta hit the books.

offline revpersona from Plainfield (United States) on 2011-07-24 05:08 [#02418067]

Again, not once did I say he did not commit these
atrocities. I find it hard to believe he acted alone.
Again, patsy, provocateur, etc. etc.

Yes, he supposedly had a watermelon (?) farm which is how he
was able to score the fertilizer. All the pieces are there,
but I find it hard to believe this is a lone gunman
scenario.

I am not finding things to fit my worldview.

Shame on you or anyone else that chastises me for thinking
there is more at play here than a lone gunman. This was an
extremely well planned and executed attack.

Don't forget that just recently Norway has become very vocal
about their support for the Palestinians.

I love how I am attacked for my opinion. This was a
horrible event and my thoughts go out to those on here who
may have been effected in some way.

How about you put that energy at people who actually
deserve to be called out for saying unbelievable things.

See, but I think it really does come down to world view, for
both of us.

(going by my recollection of your previous posts) You tend
to mistrust governmental entities, and given the current
geopolitical climate, you'd be surprised if there weren't
some dark strings being pulled by some group of people with
political motives.

I work in psychology and my worldview says that given the
rates of mental illness, I'm surprised there aren't more
people flipping out like this all time. Evidence to fit my
worldview: this guy was clearly sick, enjoying what he was
doing. ("Come out and play, I won't hurt you." according to
the reports, etc) I really am surprised this doesn't happen
way, way more often.

Anyway I don't mean to chastise you. I really do have to get
back to work.

It's a bad spot to go off on a tangent I am about to. I
know, so please ignore my rant.

What really bothers me about
I work in psychology and my worldview says that given the
rates of mental illness, I'm surprised there aren't more
people flipping out like this all time.

and essentially the whole field of psychology/psychiatry is
their way of plotting any mental state onto some scale of
mental illness.

You're surprised there aren't more people flipping out,
because you (you + the entire field of
psychology/psychiatry) have got no clue as to what an actual
mental illness is and what is not.

Your surprise is the cherry on the pudding. Or rather the
smoking gun. To me, psychology/psychiatry is losing it's
legitimacy very fast. Mental illnesses seem to be created to
push some more pills and to keep the economy of
therapies/pills growing.

You're part of a business which makes money by classifying
people to have a mental illness.

Sicko.

Apart from that I've got no grapes against you as a person
whatsoever. This is really not about you.

I should point out, my BA is psych, and I've had some
training in that field, but I'm actually working towards a
Masters in Social Work. I am by no means planning on being
any kind of therapist or clinician.

"you + the entire field of psychology/psychiatry have got no
clue as to what an actual mental illness is and what is
not."

This is essentially true... the diagnostic and statistical
manual of mental disorders lays out certain agreed upon
criteria for what a mental disorder is, but does that really
qualify it as a "true mental illness?" Most in the field
would probably say "no, it doesn't; but research has
indicated that this treatment for this criteria has yielded
the most positive results." If you like the scientific
method, then you'll appreciate this, if not, I don't know
what to tell you.

I don't quite understand what issue you take with my
surprise.

Population is increasing, economy is down, stress is up,
guns are readily available (at least here in the US, and it
seems like Norway too), and whether you'd like to believe it
or not there are a lot of people out there that have some
seriously fucked up cognitions. Some of these people are
dangerous, some are not. I feel I'm justified in my
surprise that more people don't go berserk, like this piece
of shit in Oslo did.

Thanks for the reply. Good points.

My actual issue is that my sister, who is far in her 30's,
recently got diagnosed to have Aspergers. Or to be close in
the spectrum. After having done some test at some
professional institute. And this was right after having been
sacked, and having given birth to her second which she
nearly didn't survive. I mean, what's the point of that
test? Does the test help in any way? After all that's she's
going through right now, the test is actually relevant?
Well, she thinks it is. And it pisses me off to great
levels.

Well, I don't know your sister or her situation, nor do I
really know the standard course of testing or treatments for
aspergers (I think it's really considered more of a
personality disorder than a clinical mental disorder
though), but if she has problematic thoughts and behaviors
that are causing her real disress, then I would be
for any kind of treatment that would better her quality of
life--

usually it's a mix of cognitive/behavioral therapy
(identifying bad, faulty or destructive thoughts and
learning coping mechanisms) and medication (to correct
chemical imbalance, not sure if aspergers typically needs
this) In the end, it'll be up to her though. Here is the
DSM-4 Entry for aspergers.

DSM is the book of the devil. The idea that a diagnose can
be made without taking the context into account. Or putting
each kind of visual behavior in some kind of box wrt to
mental illnesses. At this point I have more faith in NLP.

There I go again...

away in the name of security. "people died". yes, it's
sad, but how about the hundreds of thousands that are killed
in illegal wars every day? do you cry over them? their
families? No you're too busy sitting in front of your

its kind of like the response I get when bringing up
Operation Northwoods in response to 9/11... "people DIED

back on anything they might learn in the process by having
an open mind.

I get what you're saying, and if he was a bit more devious,
he would not only have exploded that bomb during the busy
hours like u said, but make up a fake statement where he
claims the bomb was from some sort of new scandinavian
islamic extremist organization, who feel inspired by Q'ran
etc., with the message that they will not rest until all
kafirs are under the banner of Sharia law.

He would then not have killed the children and thereby
reveal his identity, nor allow himself to get caught, but
would simply carry on exploding bombs in the name of Islam.

This would eventually create division amongst the Norwegian
people, and they would slowly become antagonistic against
islam, a course which would sooner lead to an expulsion of
rapidly breeding muslims from the european continent than
this current action of his, which probably has the opposite
effect.

It's really dangerous and deluded to think this has shady
political motives behind it, like a staged attack for the
control of western beliefs about how we perceive terrorism.
if you start looking for clues they will appear but they
hold no solidarity or investigative merit... just a tangent
of loose ideas which conveniently fit together because you
want them to. People like Alex Jones peice together
information sporadically and make up half of it on the spot
and he is a fear mongering fat bastard anyway...

All you have is the most likely version of reality, which is
a voiceless right wing sociopath, that resorted to the most
cruel and shocking acts of violence; killing innocent lives
with the sole perpose of promoting his sick politcal
frustrations to the world... driven with anger and hatred
for the left wing Norway. This meglomaniac planned and
executed his attack purely to get himself in the
spotlight....but he did nothing but cause complete
devastation to so many

Precisely. You can create thrilling narratives that make
your nipples hard but fiction with some details "torn from
the headlines" is still fiction.

I heard the asshole "historian" Webster Tarpley on Alex
Jones a couple months ago and he began "I imagine..." then
spun a story about Obama yelling at some CIA guy re: Libya.
Then proceeded on like this was established fact he hadn't
by his own admission completely invented!
