ok, i ran msconfig with no spaces and followed the
instructions you gave me with autoexe, and config. i looked
at the porggies list, and unchecked a few that i knew of
that were a waste.

*here's the freaky part*

one of the files that i unchecked, was called
"sexypicz.exe," after i clicked apply, then ok, it asked if
i wanted to restart, so i did...the screen darkened then the
system started to freeze, then unlocked, and suddenly the
screen was RED! and my pc started beeping! it beeped 3
times...then it restarted...and now i'm here...

i've deleted sexypicz.exe a long time agor before any of
this even happened...and to find it on that list amazes me.
i just did a "file ->find" and searched for it, and came up
clean.

i have norton anti-virus, and it runs routine checks, and
has never reported any flaws. i don't know if that was a
virus, or what, but i'm sure that either i got it from a
crack site off of astalavista.com, or my sis (of whom i
share this comp with) downloaded it.

anyways! i think all is calm.....for now....

nano: im a computer idiot, but, some of those porn software
programs go really deep, when you type msconfig, read the
list of programs that are automatically running when you
boot, and if you find this thing checked, uncheck it and
uninstall it. Mere deleting seldom helps.

i know of add remove... the file was never on that dialog
box. that's a good idea though...but doesn't really help
much...
