God this is good, two distinct halves that share enough
threads to form a coherent whole. It demands to be heard in
one sitting and thanks to its relatively short running time
that's not too much to ask.

The inspirations are laid on thick (hello Flying Lotus, Four
Tet and Burial of course) but every single one has been
twisted, changed and made distinctly Radiohead's own.
Initially I was bemoaning the sparseness of the album after
In Rainbows but it works really well, there's a lot of
subtle work going on here that really makes things
interesting (love the simultaneous multiple passes of the
same guitar lines, each one with a different note missing or
changed, creating a lovely stereo space) and the whole thing
is paced perfectly. The Separator is an excellent conclusion
to the journey, that's how you end an album.

For me it's the most interesting thing they've done in a
decade and the nicest record I've heard in a long while.

Blah blah blah.

Nice writeup Indeksical, and it didn't occur to me but the
percussion is very similar to Four Tet indeed

I tried hard to go through the album...in vain. I can still
come back to Kid A or Amnesiac and appreciate those albums,
but this new stuff....meh

= overdone

strange i haven't bought an album since 'kid a' because i
thought they were trying too hard to change their sound and
it didn't work for me. But because i like the album name i
will check it out

exactly my point...why be progressive and put your album up
for free and then be all conservative and ask money for the
next album??..Like earning 7 million dollars(!) wasn't
enough for them!! What point did they wanna make at first?
Porn must be very expensive...
