the american youth today

I'd just like to say that Friends sucks. It's not nearly as
popular here as it once was. And yes, many american youths
are idiots, but we usually grow out of it.

I love the Brittas Empire among other wonderful British
comedy shows.

It only started about a month ago here but The Kumars at No.
42 is such a great show! It's a chat show but with a twist,
the set is built in the Kumars backyard!! The son is the
host and his family ask questions to the guests! It's
excellent and highly recommended. It's a spin-off from that
other great comedy Goodness Gracious Me.

Oh yeah and I also love Time Gentlemen Please :)

I hate Friends, I have no idea why it is/was so popular.
Though I LOVE Seinfeld and The Simpsons. When I first seen
Seinfeld I thought it was total crap. I thought why was it
praised so much when it was so unfunny. A few years ago I
seen it again and got hooked :)

Hmmm, good points, but it's a huge thing to ask of a
capitalistic country with no solid values. The more the
media can get people to become vulgar and impulsive the
easier it is to sell things to them. I'm not saying the
media is to blame, it's just a cyclic process because we as
Americans have no sense of identity.

Young people are stupid, which partly explains why I hate
everybody around me and want them to shut the fuck up and
lock themselves underground away from my view. That would
please me.

If you ask me, this post is stupid and pointless. Your
stereotypical opinions aren't needed to be expressed here.
What this is coming down to is who's better? U.S. or
Europe?

The reason why you find americans "idiots" is because you
don't understand how our society is, I mean heck you didn't
even understand Seinfeld, which is a very straightforward
commedy, which always returns back to it's theme of
"nothing."

I'm not flaming anyone or anything even remotely close, but
I feel that these kind of posts should be meant somewhere
else.

I think the worst thing to come out of america is Rap music.
it started out good with Grand master flash and so on. but
now its only about 5 things, weed, booties, weed, guns, and
weed.

If American youth are idiots then Europeans are ignorant.

offline jupitah from Minneapolis (United States) on 2002-04-11 23:16 [#00168594]

I doubt European youth are any less idiotic than American
youth.

Regarding comedy, it's very much culturally dependant. If I
happen to find some british comedy funny I'd still be
missing a lot of the humor most likely. That's why action
and violence based films travel better. Everybody loves to
see a car go BOOM!

then why did the american youth in the "baby-boomer"
culture, umm... save europeans from the nazis? & the
japanese?

what happened to me? hmm... if us, "american youth" are so
stupid... why then is it that when I went over to France &
England... I saw every dumb-fuck European buy American made
cigarettes and smoking their fucking lungs out? Don't you
know that that stuff is bad?

You people watch too much TV. I only watch MAD TV, they
make fun of all the bad actors and shows, plus do there own
thing. I would agree that the alot of youth in the US are
not creative and have some pretty lame interests: 4x4
trucks "wheeling", dragging the main strip picking up
girls/guys, football, working to much making some one else
really rich. etc. Europe seems more artistic and creative.
At least my roomate & his pops are Russian(ukraine). When
you walk in my house its like your not in the US anymore,
communication is not always in english. He makes Sick
intricate beats, and helps me technically, mastering and
finalizing tracks.

offline jupitah from Minneapolis (United States) on 2002-04-12 07:27 [#00169375]

I used to have that vision of Europe too, but I've met so
many students here at the uni from various places in Europe
and they are just different. I'm sure there are as many
idiots in Europe as there are in America (percentage-wise),
but people are idiotic in different ways from culture to
culture. It's so disappointing when I ask people from
Europe what music they're into, and they tell me U2 or some
other pop from either Europe or the States. How could you
play our shitty pop in your country (to those I'm speaking
of)? We got the stupid truckin' kids and what not, but I'm
sure englad or France has their own stupid shit consuming
the youth.

Hey, I live in Texas, we have a very unique collection of
idiots.

Rednecks and white trash.

Religious fanatics/hypocrits.

G-Dog gangsta wanna be's.

Uppity prissy mallrat, fratboys.

NASCAR fans (if I see #3 on one more car...)

we have a plethora of idiot cliques. we also have some
really cool people.

The other day I was at a hardcore/metal show. There was
this 350 pound bald guy (typical Slayer fan) with nazi
tattoos all over his legs and arms. One of the bands had a
black guitarist. He still danced (skull bashed), and then
told the band how good they were.

I don't understand why he goes to so much trouble to hate.
I'm too lazy to hate people. I just don't have the time or
energy to dedicate myself to hating people for petty
reasons.

quoth:

the russians were the main reason why germany was defeated
in WW2. the russians and germans lost many soldiers in
enormous battles on the russian borders. when the german
forces were depleted from the battles in russia the US moved
in from the west to claim victory and all the glory. US
schools may not have taught you that part in history.

there is nothing to be proud of about dropping nukes too.

The youth in this country are apathetic little fuckers who
only care about quick thrills and bugger the consequences. I
believe they should bring back national service, or we
should have another war to straighten these little bastards
out.

yeah she wasnt bad-remember jonesy when we were discussing
old fav's to ahem...'identify artistic merrit' in the
confines of your toilet. well one of mine was the classic

and you see her tits.

That was a classic comedy moment Ken. Nice bit of titilation
for the lads too.

I remember reading that they were the first female breasts
that Babs' tomboy husband had seen. How sweet.

it was the look of fear as babs clutced her bra to her chest
as EVERYONE on the campsite stared and laughed at her

the tits? well...6/10.
