Rad is right really. Language evolves. Being homosexual or hetrosexual is really only a big issue with the older generation, and possibly some exceptions like peoples faith etc. Because someones sexuality is such a non-issue these days, calling something gay because it's shit is really meaningless. I'm not saying AMPI shouldn't be insulted, I'm just trying to reassure AMPI. She can be safe in the knowlege that anyone saying that something shit is 'gay' on this board really doesn't hold any water. If you want to look at it another way: You can't be insulted by anything on this board anyway. People are being called 'Cunt-fagshooter' and the like on a daily basis. Let me begin shall I? Growing up, you won't be aware of sexuality until you notice that girls and boys go together. Then you learn about homosexuality, probably from school in a derogatory way. So if you ever come to the realisation that you're gay, you'll have to admit it, then tell everyone else who would probably assume that you're straight (depending on your personality :D ) I'd imagine it'd take some courage to do that... and that person has every right to be proud. so don't be such a fag |

i thought it was that they're proud of the culture and heritage or something. that would be an achievement of the group. perhaps unabashed or unashamed would be more technically correct, since someone might say proud to show that they are open or out about it. proud is probably just easier and more natural tho, and generally most lay folk non-pedants would get the point of what is being said. |
