global warming is an obvious side effect to the amount of shit we've been burning the past hundred or so years
i mean just look what an oil spill will do to a beach
think of that but in our sky. something's gotta give.
and to believe otherwise is frankly quite dangerous

while I'm on the "pro" side here, I don't see this oil spill analogy working, it's not about pollution but certain runaway effects in the atmosphere.
Actually I'm more worried about the rampant destruction of the environment than a sea-level rise or temperature change... For example, take the argument for the coral reefs (that they will be wiped out by change in temperature): I'm sorry, but eco systems will be able to handle things in the long run. There isn't any reason to protect one particular image of what nature should be like. Species will adapt. But of course they won't keep up at our pace if we destroy all the wild habitats in the next couple of decades.

let's face it. not enough people give a shit
many say they do but they don't honestly give a fuck. you could probably even call me one of those. it's bad but part of me wants disaster. i think they've been teasing us with it for too long now. something deep down in me wants an epic fuck up. for it all to come crashing down and to feel all things at once. i think only in a situation like that can you really define yourself. in a world of confusion people fucking crave it.
what we really want is often nothing like what we say.

Sure, they're not in the control of a handful of do-gooders, but that isn't the problem. The problem is the small amount of do-gooders (a handful). The problem could be in the hands of thousands upon thousands of do-gooders, but they're so complacent they wouldn't know how to fuck if they didn't have porn.
"The fickle fingers of fate are often the only thing in control."
What is fate if not a conveniently placed pillow?
"The result of that was not in the control of anyone in America."
You are aware that most relations are reciprocal, right? You are aware of the concept of international relations and diplomacy?
There's a reason why you're worried about China, and it's not because you have been sitting on your hands while the Chinese have been doing lots of stuff: You've been interacting with them.
"The demise of America or less green house gasses? "
Not mutually exclusive, but I do not wish for anyone's demise.

"Also, Many scientists believe the earth goes through natural
warming and cooling patterns. Why did we choose to listen to
the group that thinks that warming is man made and not part of the natural cyclical pattern of the earth temp?"
First of all: Almost all scientists believe the earth goes through natural warming and cooling patterns. It's the basis for the current assumption; the natural patterns are regular and predictable. Current level of gas and temperature is a deviation from this pattern.
We choose to listen to that group because their theory best explains all observed phenomena using known scientific concepts and with fewer ad-hoc hypotheses.

Good I hope the price keeps rising so these idiot economists wake up as well as Americans that are in the dark. These rising prices are attributed to mainly two things:
Refineries INFLATION*******
