She looks so beautiful. Although it is quite a task to put
the digipack back in the steel case. I still need to listen
to it.

is Altichyre the first title on the special disc or it is
the title of the disc??? because it is missing from the flac
folder...

offline jules from United States on 2008-03-07 12:22 [#02182737]

yea, im kind of confused on the tracks here as well. my
version of io has the theplc beat for 9 minutes and the
tracks perlence and range 3 are two different tracks. I also
dont have the Altichyre track.

btw, cx is the man and he gave me the sickest version of
land of confusion before. its just sick. thanks man.

few cases. Could someone who actually has the proper disc
please post a tracklist and times too? Thanks!!

as for reviews, i do like some of the stuff on disc 1, but
ultimately i think disc 2 should've been the main disc. the
smaller jams on disc 1 would be great for a limited
collectors edition..
disc 2 + notwo + paralel suns would've been a very awesome
main disc for quaristice.

but in the end we get more material this way, so thats
cool..

and man fol4 is just so great on high volume, really intense
and nice..

offline jackeroffer from Aruba on 2008-03-07 13:42 [#02182771]
Points: 1038 Status: Lurker

i have to say im a little disappointed by the lack of new
material on the 2nd disc. This is the first time Autechre
has released any sort of reworking of their own tracks where
the reworkings or alternate versions heavily resemble the
originals, even more than Basscadet EP i would say. the PLC
and perlence extended are awesome though, worth it just for
those alone.

The PlcLCpC (9:18) is so much better than the original, more
sounds, more ideas, more everything.

Perlence Range3 (7:37) is just brilliant. This is what I was
hoping for in Quaristice. I don't think autechre understood
that cutting down tracks to a short length from a full jam
took away so much of the meticulous flavor. They were so
used to their track, and took their favorite bits to make it
shorter, that they overlooked how a listener might catch on,
they were just so used to these longer tracks, they could
shorten them and hear no difference. I'm not wording it
right but that's my take on it.

Fol4 (11:41) is just incredible. The windy fx crap in the
original has been cut down so much and now we can actually
hear the awesome alien shit going on.

Chenc9-x (8:28) still didn't have that bit I wanted from the
live set. Would have been icing on the cake for me, and
probably some of you.

Nofour (4:24) was epic, the only problem is right when you
were expecting it to carry on with an even louder and more
epic progression, it went dead and fucked off somewhere, for
over 2 minutes.. Should have been longer.

i like the new heavy machine drum bass drums audible in
Perlence, this song makes so much more sense now. doesnt
sound like a farmers manual jam session like i previously
thought

jarring

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Today's gonna be one of those Saturdays when Royal Mail

service they're so shit, seriously, only half the time to
they actually bother coming down this road at all.

this is the premature end of all possible discussions to

Picked mine up from the Post Office this morning. Just
about to listen for the first time. The packaging is great
isn't it? Cut steel is one heck of a nice material.

I meant to pick mine up from the Post Office this morning
but could be arsed getting out of bed early enough. I'll
hear my special edition on Monday then...

To people: I am not expecting the bonus disc to be
especially good. Is it?

I figured they wouldn't put it out in mass, so must have
been something they've dashed off? Or some after-thought
mixes etc. If it's pretty good, then it is indeed a bonus!

well people are already saying it shoulda been the real cd,
and disc 1 should be the mix/jam cd..

its not up there with their earlier stuff to me, but i think
there is a lot of cool moments in there.
fol4 is sick..

i honestly dont think after further listens the 2nd cd is
better than the 1st disc.

there are some major problems with disc 2, first off Chenc
9 long version is very lazily done imo with none of the
extra bits i was expecting to be tacked on but instead a
large portion of Chen9 is now recycling bits of perlence.
The ambient songs, especially the first one arent that
interesting, at least not as interesting as the ones
appearing on the first disc.

Disc 2's strong points are the new PLC, perlence and Fol4.
pretty much everything else on it is imo pretty forgettable.

I think quaristice the 1st disc could have PLC and perlence
replaced by the long versions and fol4 replaced by the
better version (from disc 2) and youd have one bad ass AE
album.

So it appears neither the 20 track CD or the bonus CD are
the real "Quaristice" albums. When will we hear the REAL
ALBUM that surely is a mixture of future beats and that one
good track that played after Chenc9 on the live set
atGlasgow?????

The biggest fault of Quaristice, 20 song album or Lmtd.
edition version, is that it isnt one big long track.

There. I said it.

And if they are doing the same thing on this tour that they
basically did on their live tour in 2005 (ie - fucking
around with Elektron gear still, but with a new pallete of
sounds), their next album will come off just like this one.

I hope they play around with Max/MSP 5 when it comes out.
