Okay. I've got one, at multiple BPMs, but give me a couple
weeks to polish it up. I'll be back later.

you silly vinyl spinners and your challenges

bpms are putty on my screen.

srsly listening to vlrs now and it is nice. it just changed
bpm & pitch at the same time.

is this turning into a best zilty-mix of '08 contest?

I have to agree with Glasse... this is not a mix-off for
"silly vinyl spinners". I've done the whole mixing on vinyl
and cdjs etc... and to be frank, mixing two songs together
is nothing special at all. Here is how I am approaching...

The mix should be between 40 to 80 minutes long...
The mix should not be the same tempo throughout.
The mix can be of any genre.
The mix should be more than the sum of its parts.

Persoanally, I'm using Virtual DJ in conjunction with my
numark 3-channel mixer, Sony Sound Forge, Sony Acid, and
Audio Mulch.

heh i was just dicking around. i actually have mad respect
for those who spin. i was just teasing that multi bpm stuff
is much easier in live, but that is why i have the respekt!

are you just changing the bpm at some point in the mix, or
actually trying to blend 2 tracks of different bpms
together, to get a shuffle or step going?

Regarding Vinyl:
Agreed with the mad respect to all those vinyl dj's and also
there is still something to be said for great song choice,
order, phrasing, and transitioning, but there is also
something to be said about a programmed mix. Take
GIRL TALK for instance. His mixes are very precise. I
only wish he could stay on a song for more than 16 bars.

Regarding Multi-BPMs:
I plan on using an assortment of different techniques.
Whichever is appropriate for the proper transition. In my
test mixes, I've done different things like cuts from one to
another, and sometimes I'll bring the pitch up or down
without master tempo and sometimes without.

"Okay. I've got one, at multiple BPMs, but give me a couple

a few weeks?! to polish up a mix?!

if this isn't the best mix i've heard in my life, you are
sacked.

as a rule,i spend around 60 minutes on a 60 deck mix
and around 60 minutes on a 60 minute tractor set-but...and
this is very important... if its a 70 minute mix,it WILL
take me 70 minutes.
