well, maybe two times... As for jerking i do it as much now
as I did 15 years ago...

No, no, I was kidding, only, most of the people replyed to
this topic in a kind of telegraphic style and you were the
only one seeming to actually put an effort that we're not
used to...

Nice to see another female member here, I just wonder are
you aware of the pressure female members are exposed to
here...

Yes, watch out for Meho. His "crotch-plunging" is not
restricted to females though. I was on the bus with him the
other day and he "bumped" into a great Dane (the dog, not a
large man from Holland).

BTW "the jones" you say you listen to all kinds of
electronica; does that include dj mixes? Of late I've been
asking everyone this sorta of question, because I met
someone (an electronic music listener) who didn't understand
or want to know about dj culture at all, which TRULY
disgusted me, since electronica and dj culture go hand in
hand; they are directly linked.

Also, do you listen to trance and such? I'm sick of people
saying they are huge fans of electronica and how they listen
to all these IDM artists but they think trance sucks, which,
for the most part, it does not.

That was a great dane? Holy shit, I thought it was a tall
girl with hairy legs..

And about this DJ thing deathsmith is mentioning: well,
isn't it obvious that DJ's just use up somebody else's hard
work to gain attention, with putting in as little effort as
they can. Culture? They don't even have any instruments, all
they have is two record players and they go
KKKKHHHRRRKKKHHHRRR

Meho Krljic: you obviously are one of those people I am
disgusted by if you have no appreciation for the dj culture;
it is much more elaborate than that, and djing is NOT easy
to do. You have to do the mixing at all the right times,
you have to know WHAT sounds good, what the crowds are going
to want to hear (trance, house, progressive house, etc.) and
what they are NOT going to want to hear (IDM, ambient,
etc.).

hahaha, you get up there and play records alternately and
everyone's stuffed with E, how hard can that be? They
wouldn't know the difference if you were just playing muppet
show records. Plus that annoying scratching, is that some
kind of skill too?

offline Deathsmith from Brussels (Belgium) on 2002-06-13 14:23 [#00264133]

Real dj's don't do scratching when they do ttheir mixes, but
actually it IS a skill.

Meho Krlyjic if you have any appreciation for electronic
music at all get Northern Expeditions Volume 1 by the two
best dj's in the world, partners John Digweed and Sasha, and
experience what djing is all about.

I'd put DJs into two camps;

1) cheesy wankers like Judge Jules who wouldn't know quality
music if it kidnapped their baby

and

2)people who search out great music to play to enthusiastic
music fans/clubbers who want to hear great music and dance,
like Andy Weatherall

Unfortunately most DJs fit into the first camp and they're
paid an oscene amount of money. Paul Oakenfold please stand
up!

ahem...

i was once there, but now i am here.
i used to drink vodka, but now it is beer.
music i make, for it's a calling in life.
at the age of twenty-three, i have no wife.
i play the guitar, i don't sing at all.
i'm five foot eleven, so i'm not that tall.
as an artist of sorts, i paint and i draw.
though being a perfectionist is a major flaw.
through the woods and the trees i like to walk.
before david beckam i'd a spikey mohawk.
now if you'll excuse me, i must go and shower.
i have an appointment downtown in the next one hour!

some minor trolling for fun. But I had you going...
Actually, I loisten to a lot of mixed stuff and have nothing
but respect for a lot of DJ's. I'm not that much into
trance, but helpyourself...

I would put all dj's in either of these two groups:

the kind that do what they do not for the money, but because
they love their profession, and they love the music they
play. (John Digweed and Sasha)

And then there is the kind that is. . . not like the
aforementioned type.
