I always thought Ritchie Hawktin got his style tips from
Foucault...

There's a picture in a recent Future Music that looks so
much like a young Foucault it's spooky...

I used to work with this gay bloke a couple years back and
he wouldn't admit that he was gay (no, I wasn't pressing him
to, but some of our co-workers made some insinuations which
he was quick to protest), but did look like a classical
textbook gay person. Anyway, the first day we talked about
music and I was able to namedrop about 95% of the bands he
was listening to. Disco, bad disco and some Lisa Minelli.
Great guy, though.

I don't understand these gay icons etc. I remember my
Sociology lecturer in my first year played a gay anthem for
no apparent reason in one of our lectures. I Am What I Am I
think it was called.

Right and I will survive by Gloria Gaynor is another of
those. Great track though, for the cheese alone. Also
virutally everything Cher's done. It's cool to know though
that some good music is made and appreciated by gay persons
(Coil, Matmos, Miles Davis and a bunch of others)

"I am what I am"...lol..you gotta sing that in a Nu Yorc
accent to get the proper I sound...

yeah, "gay Icons" are getting pretty tired...to be honest, I
think it's just a way to get around being Politicslly
Correct all the time...i.e. instead of saying someones gay,
just say "One or 2 musicals in his CD collection"...just
another underhand way to put someone down...

stereotypes...find em, fuck em, forget em...

Although, if I were gay I'd be extremely infuriated at those
stereotypes (that a lot of gay persons seem to adhere to,
sadly). Fuck that shit, jesus, I'd still be wanting to
listen to Slayer i think.
