Sure, wrestling is nerdy and maybe a little gay, but when
it comes to video games, there is nothing like it. Fire Pro
Wrestling for the PS2 finally drops in countries other than
Japan and I'm stoked. Not only does the game come with loads
of real life wrestlers with clever names to sidestep the
copyright, but you can also create about anyone imaginable.

The real stars of the game, however, are the moves. I think
I read there are over 1,000 moves, and let me tell you,
those Japanese guys are crazy and bust out some ridiculous
attacks that you will never see anywhere in American
mainstream wrestling. I'm looking forward to stabbing Hulk
Hogan in the back of the head with a ghetto fork, for
example.

Did I mention it's going to retail for $14.99? Aside from
being able to rip a CD into your wrestler's entrance video
(which is totally bad ass, I admit) this year's Smackdown
vs. Raw has nothing on Fire Pro.

Should be fun.

I've no idea what you're on about but just the sheer level
of utter madness displayed in your rhetoric got me, I must
admit, stoked.

For 14.99 I might try it, I like how this series isn't so
dependent on just mashing on buttons. And the North American
box art is hilariously old school.

:)

I had a feeling at least one person, namely Ophecks, might
know what the hell I'm talking about.

The only one I've actually played is on Game Boy Advance and
it was really fun even although it was extremely limited.
There are some pretty swank youtube videos that showcase
some of the things you can do. I believe I saw a six-man tag
match with nothing but 80's legends that looked identical to
their counterparts. Plus, I have a very soft spot in my
heart for 2-D graphics.

Ha, I don't remember any of those things in the actual
gameplay aside from the kicking.

Wait, which one is the Cowboy Kid? The guy on the left isn't
a kid and the one on the right certainly isn't a cowboy.

The better question is, what happened to Romstar? It looks
like a quality game company from this game alone, up there
with Konami, Capcom and Square.

Anyway, I don't remember the cowboy/indian tandem of Bert
Reynolds and Fabio, but I'm sure they do well with the
ladies.

Smokey and the Bandit

from that series of films

Only wrestling game I ever enjoyed was WWF Arcade, which
played like a shiter Mortal Kombat.
