hahaha!! thats stupid! =)
Bas is the greatest . I love it when he coments matches "OOOH beautifull liver shots there!! POW POW POW!!"
He is famous in sweden for an encounter with the bouncers of a famous club called spy bar. The swedish newspapers had him to be badguy of the story , attacking the bouncers but anyone who has been to the club knows what sick fucks they are ( i got thrown out once for no reason whatsoever).
And anyone into pride knows Bas is the nicest coolest guy ever.
Read about it here

Im not a UFC hater, but seriously, I lost ALL interest in Mixed Martial Arts the day Pride was sold and essentially shut down.
I just cant bring myself to watch the sport in a fucking dimly lit cage with no knees to downed opponents.

haha @ the last comment.
Well fighting is fighting. and to say you like fighting only because of knees to the head on the ground is..well bizarre.
I'm a bigger fan of PRIDE than UFC. But UFC is where MMA is currently. And there are great matches to be had, I'd say your definitely missing out.
...we know you won't miss Wandy vs chuck though :D.

Well i should clarify, the rules in Pride (with the exception of foot stomps) and their judging/scoring criteria were superior to the UFC's on every level.
Knees to downed opponents makes a HUGE difference in both the flow of a fight specifically the ground fighting and also in the strategy involved. Fights in Pride were generally more exciting because of the knees on the ground.
If you watch UFC fights for instance its common to see fighters actually take a knee to avoid damage, the lack of knees also allows fighters to fall into a defensive turtle position to avoid strikes or even sumissions, which is probably the worst thing to see in professional MMA.
That said, the bright white traditional ring, the announcing, music and production actually gave the perception of importance and legitimacy in Pride. Its just not the same watching fighters enter a dark and smoky cage to cheesy gladiator music that was probably composed on a Casio keyboard.
.. and yea as much as i dislike the experience of watching the UFC I cant stop watching because of the fighters.

You're right. No knees to down opponents pisses me off and saves a lot of people from getting owned in bad positions. That said, it's not a UFC rule, it an NSAC rule. When Pride came to the States, they couldn't knee on the ground either I thought.
