news from the hyperdub camp - new burial should be out
november 5th, vinyl as well as cd this time.

they seem to be putting out some 8bit stuff as well now,
that version of 9 samurai quarta330 had up at his
myspace (dunno if it's there now, blocked at work) is
getting an official release on the flip of sunset dub, bit
bizarre but it works i think

and even better than all that, asbo1 out on proper white
labels soon! been bloody long enough, i've heard next week
mentioned but nowt concrete yet. come ooooonnn ye bastard

I am looking forward to hearing. Hopefully it will be good
as I need some new releases that I like as there haven't
been many recently.

I shall check this out, because of the two
comments ahead of mine. Make that three comment.

Because of _gvarek_'s last minute post, my post should have
read "four comments".

Ill have to check out "ghost hardware".

not yet but this seems pretty interesting:

"Demand for burial's roundly praised debut has rocketed
following a swathe of superlative appraisals and high
rankings in the various year-end review sections. Now
finally bowing to widespread and sustained demand, hyperdub
will issue a specially re-tooled vinyl edition, available
for a strictly limited period. With the dj in mind, optimum
sonic integrity has been maintained by removing the cd
versions beatless opening and closing tracks, and the
remaining 11 tunes have been re-sequenced and recut to allow
those 4 that have until now not appeared on vinyl to be
presented in newly-mastered 12-inch-standard audio across
the first 2 sides ('wounder', 'u hurt me', 'spaceape' and
'prayer'). With both the 'south london boroughs' and
'distant lights' eps now out of print and likely to remain
that way, this limited edition two-wax pack offers the only
way to get your burial fix in club-ready configuration, but
it won't be around for ever as the ever-elusive producer is
near to completing his next opus, at which point this
changes tense from present to past.

Wounder 04:45

U Hurt Me 05:16

Spaceape 03:59
Prayer 03:42
Distant Lights 05:21
Southern Comfort 05:00
Gutted 04:37
Broken Home 05:02

Pirates 06:04

Forgive 03:05

Night Bus 02:09

All different track times to previous retail version/uploads
on oink. As stated. Re-tooled vinyl edition, re-sequenced
and recut. Njoy"

The vinyl version of the first album has been out for some
time now. I have a copy.

Belb:
I really don't like that 9 samurai 8 bit mix. I'm
sure it was intended as a respectful tribute to the
original, but to my ears he murdered one of the best tracks
of recent years. Then again, I don't like chiptune as a
genre at the best of time (I'm more into the reverse-
turning videogame music into "proper" tracks).

With regard to ASBO1, that is great news. About bloody time!
Only Zomby's Spliff Dub had me waiting longer for a proper
release. :)

Looking forward to the new Burial. Hopefully an evolution of
his older sound, rather than a completely new direction like
Stairwell (which I'm not fussed on).

Oh dear, I've just heard Pinch's new single, Pepper Spray.
First one of my favourite dubstep tracks is butchered by an
8 bit remix, from Hyperdub's worst signing. Now my favourite
dubstep producer is also now using the extremly wank
chiptune sound palette to ruin an otherwise decent track. I
hope this isn't a new direction for dubstep :(

At least the B-side is good.

Can't wait for this. I heard Endorphin on his myspace page
(it was up for about a day) and I didn't think that much of
it really. But i'm sure the album will be fantastic anyway.

Excellent news. I'm prepared to forgive him the chip tunes
on pepper spray if he's about to deliver an album! :D
