Hi everyone,

Just got into Simple Minds properly (their early stuff, not
the shite commerical stuff, though Don't You Forget About Me
is quite a good song).

Sons And Fascination is immense.
Love Song is pure class, I hope everyone loves that song
here. If you haven't heard it check it cos it's immense.
Sweat In Bullet is great.

Empires And Dance is pretty damn electronic in parts. Other
parts sound like Joy Division. Other parts sound like
Can/Neu.

Yet to listen to Real To Real (not a typo) Cacophony and
Life In A Day.

Check them out,
Future Image.

Aren't you the knockjob that said "The Brown Album" was
overrated. Where's my noose?

lmfao I just don't see there's much to really rave about on
the Brown Album... sorry if I'm missing the point of it. I
love Halcyon but that's really all on there that appeals to
me.....

Guys seriously, their commercial stuff is shite alright I'll
give you that, but trust me check out the early stuff.

Theme For Great Cities is perfection.

I was dancing to "Don't you forget about me" last night in a
club. It was fucking wicked.

Don't you forget about me' is a good song but I've never
delved any deeper than that into their discography. I'm
going to have to check out more of their music one of these
days.

Odd, I caught the tail end of a Futurama episode that played
this song from The Breakfast Club soundtrack.

The Krautrock connection really comes through on Real to
Real Cacophony.
Everything from 1982 forward was crime against humanity and
they should have been executed.

Agreed. The krautrock influenced albums were great (I guess
Sons & Fascination is included in that?) but when they went
commercial.... urgh.

Also, check out side b for "don't you (forget about me)" -
"A Brass Band in African Chimes" - I couldn't believe it's
the same band when I first heard it. It's a massive track.
