I had never heard a thing about him before. I'm a fan of
the ol' scratch so I figured I would give it a shot, boy was
that a mistake. I'm listening to it now, I'm really bored.

The funniest shit I heard lately is 'hand on my nutsack' by
coolio. That guy's rhymes and general material is comically
terrible. Listen to this:

"Who rules the step to the rep that I kept
for a long, long, long, long, long, long, long time
I got mor flavour then a truck load of Snickers
Ya punch her by the straps, ya got ta kick her, fuck it!
That's how it go when ya dealin with a pro-per
Got my hand on the mic and I'm about to let it flow
Coolio locc and I'm down ta blast
Peter Piper picked a paper, pick a pepper's and I jacked his
ass"

Ha ha ha, a truckload of snickers that doesn't even rhyme
with anything. Peter Piper?

i find his stuff to be entertaining. it's not profound or
life changing music but nice enough to have playing in the
background while having a few drinks with friends. it's
playful, like dj food, although i like food more.

He did an awesome track for the breezeblock a few years
back, which I don't think got a proper release. Anyway, that
is my fav of his. He's great live too, but I can understand
why people find his albums a little boring.

He's good live. I have his comic book thing which was
possibly my worst book purchase ever. Has he even done
anything in the last couple of years?

Is that the Moon River one? I really like that track. The
live (as opposed to album) version of 'drunk trumpet' is
also very good.

I must admit, I hardly ever listen to Koala these days, okay
in small doses, but a whole album grates a bit. His second
album had quite a few listenable tracks on it though.

Oh yes, I almost forgot, if you're interested in
turntabilism that sounds more like proper music than
'scratch music' check out D-Styles Bstard Language Tour DVD.
Very well done and some tracks sound just like a normal
band. I played my old man (who is well into his jazz and
'oldie' music) a bit of 'You know' and asked if he
recognised anything odd about it. He didn't think there was
anything and when I told him how it was done he was amazed.
