England is where i'm going to.

when: 23rd of june till 6th of july

where exactly: starting in london, going as far north as
possible, manchester, some places along the way and back.

why: holiday, adventure, rain <3, driving on wrong side of
road, countryside, muffins.

how: flying to stansted, renting a car, sleeping in a tent
where possible.

Any information regarding essential places to visit, gigs,
places to stay etc is greatly appreciated.

Hurrah!

Yummmmm!

I'd say check TimeOut but it never seems to list anything
I'm into. You can do all the tourist stuff in London for
free, dont pay for sightseeing or anything. Go to Tate
Britain and Tate Modern, maybe. Central London isn't
amazing, too many chain shops, check out some markets,
Camden maybe, Portobello. Avoid Birmigham.

I just saw Suburban Knight is playing fabric on the 23rd.
England can be expensive... check out buses such as MegaBus
and EasyBus for the cheapest way of getting around.

Get up to Sheffield and Manchester... can you make it to
Scotland?

sorry i forgot to mention i'll be skipping london entirely,
since i still have pretty good memories of it from the
previous visit, and i'll need my money for petrol and all
the rest.

Ceri kindly pointed out that London is not the best city to
visit by car and i don't really feel like parking 2 hours
away from the centre and taking an expensive train to the
centre.

I'm saving scotland for next time. I am itching to go there
as well but i am going to see first if i can handle the
solitude, traffic, expenses etc.

Cheers for the link. Checking.

Don't come to birmingham. It will sour your perception of
the english people.

Pinocchio - Splinter Da'Pussy Hip Hopera

Live, my place next Tuesday. I've been writing it for 29
years.
It's the story, in rap form, of a wooden boy who makes it
big in the pimping game.

Er, North eh? NORTH????

Well, be prepared for much grottiness in the towns and
cities. It's Grim Up North.

Best places would be Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool.
Birmingham's meant to be pretty good these days, but I can't
vouch for that.

The whole staying in a tent idea is not particularly
practical. I would advise against that unless you want to
stay in caravan/camping parks and probably pay about the
same as you would for a Travelodge anyway. You can't really
just set up your tent anywhere you like - you either get
kicked off, kicked in or possibly burnt alive. Stay in
Travelodges or Hotel Formule 1's....cheap and clean and
safe.

Anyway, whatever you do, don't go to Peterborough.

nice photo ops at millennium bridge.

The car rental place bollocksed up my reservation so i'm
going to another one at stansted tomorrow. What the fuck am
i doing in london carrying a rather heavy suitcase and a
tent?

bye
