Out of curiosity I decided to have a look at this thing. £250 does seem a bit steep. It could be totally borked and never work. Buying the kit seems to be about £170.
I don't see who would even consider this. At least the website has the schematics, so the fault can be traced, but I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole.
P.S. My soldering is excellent. I can do most surface mount components with ease, except BGAs! :P

looking at the second picture with the plate below i have to say that it's very very bad soldered. i wouldn't buy it - desoldering someones bad work is much worse that making something like this from scratch
