running Logic?

i've got a problem where i can't get my Atari running Logic
2.5 to act as an MTC master to drive my AW4416 as the slave
- i can only get it to work the other way round, and i seem
to be getting sync issues.

anyone come across the same problem?

(thought i'd post something that has a purpose rather than
posting spam or something that is totally irrelevant)

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I can't help you mate as I've never used Logic but respect
for still using the ST.

explain the issue abit more precisely...
Is it like, it goes out of sync during playing, or does your
gear respond like a few milliseconds later when you press
play?

I must say i still have some tiny issues with syncing using
something like ableton of fruity that's sending messages
through my firewire midi interface, i think that's kindof
general

sheffieldbleep
thanks mate, i love my Falcon :)

Fah
it's literally a sync issue, not a latency issue. i found
out there was a problem after i was playing back a peviously
recorded multitrack session while having the internal
metronome click turned on in the AW4416 - the click was out
compared to the recording.

so there's a sync issue somewhere :(

i'm hoping that having the Atari as the MIDI Time Code
master will rectify the problem but i can't get the AW4416
to respond when it's set as the slave.

as far as i can see i've set Logic correctly in terms of
sending MTC via the right port (i even tried sending it to
all 6 ports, 96 channels) but still no luck

check the AW4416 settings then to see wether it's open for
midi messages

and also check logic again if it's sending sync messages

it seems to be just that the AW4416 isn't ready for
recieving messages from ST

yeah i've checked that too, and as far as i can tell i'm
going about it the right way...i just can't figure out what
it is that i'm doing wrong :(

thanks for your suggestions though mate :) muchly
appreciated

ontop of the atari next to your tb

your mc202 looks fresh and clean and grey. Mine's all dirty,
used and...well.. not gray...

Sano
at the moment i'm doing ambient electronica mainly (due to
the fact that i've got no way to sync the 303 and 202 up to
my MIDI clock) but i'm gonna be working on some material
that's at least a little more darkwave/EBM style (because
there's somewhere i wanna gig hopefully, and they won't
appreciate the ambient stuff...also i wanna try a new
genre!)

Fah
yeah i know :( good thing though is that 606s are pretty
common and not too expensive, so i'll get another one at
some point.

the 202 :-s

to be honest, i find the 303 much easier to program! i
usually just play it "live" using the calculator-key
keyboard

yeah, i try to make sure all my gear is like new, or damn
good condition. only mark on the 202 is that there's a
hairline crack on the bottom right corner

I use the novation drumstations din sync out to my 606 &
303. I'd be fucked without my drumstation.

i'm hoping to get hold of a Kenton Pro 2000 MkII so i can
control the 202 via a CV/Gate socket, and any future synths
i may buy. and then i can sync the 303 by DIN through the
Pro 2000. they're nearly £300 a shot though :(

i do have a place online with my stuff on, but i'd rather
not post linkage since there's a certain person on this

nope you're not. I've got an 520STe but mainly using it for
chip-trackers to make 8bit music as i don't have any hw
synths to sequence with :(

maybe when i get money to buy something nice i might use the
MIDI ports on my STe

a pic of my 520STe when i got it 2nd hand

I'm actually quite amazed at the fact that you're making
music on an atari... I mean, I need minimum 1600x1200
resolution and two screens or else it just feels cramped and
I have to spend too much time scrolling back and forth...

yep, luckily the Falcon can push 640x480 on a VGA or a TV

but it's usable. to be honest i can't use the Reason

let's say i bought it dirty as hell, but i think i can clean

affraid i'll scrub or scratch off any print-ons on the
