I am going to the Dam in 6 days. Never been before. Anyone
have anything essential they want to recommend? I am not
adverse to shagging big fat whores.

You might want to smoke some weed?

I have never been also, shame on me.

If yer smoking dampkring is supposed to be the best
coffeeshop around, i can confirm they had a fucking massive
selection last time i was there, grey area well worth a
visit too, barney's has good gear and great food but is
always rammed full. Apart from that, um, anne frank's house,
the flabby whores... not much else. Amsterdam is like a
weird blackpool with more skunk.

IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU DO NOT DO MUSHROOMS AND STAY OUT ON
THE STREETS ALL NIGHT.

Whatever you do, do not go to Ann Frank's house - it's
boring as hell. Somehow, I don't think that would have been
in your itinerary anyway you git :D

You guess correct Paul :) Thanks for the info belb, six of
the seven of us going are potheads so we want to get some
class weed. Anyone know where I can score coke without
getting stabbed? :D

i was there two days ago. seems to be a really good time of
the year to visit; not so many tourists. Amsterdam is
peaceful, I like it.
Barney's is good... my friends and I were the only people
there on monday night.

don't they have a museum of shit or something?

i'd be a geek and go to the clone records shop. that is of
course if it actually is in amsterdam.

boudisque record store, pink floyd coffeeshop, conscious
dreams smartshop.

if you can be arsed to look up the locations, because i
can't be.

And if the weather is ok, i suppose you could chill out in
the Vondelpark.

This makes me want to go, smoke a range of unusual skunk and
hash, ride a bike around and go to museums and galleries.
I'm gonna do it.

Don't go to Anne Frank's attic unless you have some rreal
interrest in it, as I rrememberr it was farr too expensive.
The Heineken museum on the otherr hand is fabulous.

hmmmm, coke's highly dodgy in Amsterdam - you'll get asked
loads if you want any by shifty looking black guys, but it's
nearly always cut to fuck. also, my mate's mate did
actually get stabbed and died whilst trying to sort out some
beak in Dam. I'd steer clear unless you meet some "normal"
people at a club or something and you trust them...

You can get all sorts of other shit though - oodles of
'shrooms, peyote, "legal" E's and trips (that are actually
fucking strong), Salvia etc...

offline Jarworski from The Grove (United Kingdom) on 2007-05-17 04:45 [#02084764]

Pink Floyd coffeeshop, Heineken factory and hologram
galleries sound decent! Nice one.

Chin: Yeah that's exactly what I heard, I think I'll just
combat the weed with shrooms, should be fine...

lol yeah, you'll be fiiine...

a couple of mates of mine made the mistake of thinking that
Amsterdam'sa 24 hour city and did some very strong
mushrooms, with the intention of staying in a coffee shop
all night (they had nowhere else to stay and were going home
the next day) and just smoking etc.

to their horror they were turfed out at 2am and couldn't
find anywhere else open to shelter in until morning. They
were both tripping their bollocks off.

having no hotel or any money to get a hotel, they just had
to spend the entire night walking about Amsterdam. They
said that all the "weird night people" came out after about
2.30am and were on the streets with them - A LOT of fucked
up crack heads, tramps, hardened criminals and smackheads.
They tried sheltering in some doorways, but kept getting
weirdos coming up to them and babbling nonsense, grabbing
them and their bags and generally being quite alarming.
Remember, they were both tripping. Then they tried just
keeping on the move and the smaller of my two mates ended up
in a serious altercation with a big black dude who had
swiped his wallet or something - my other mate was 'round
the corner from him and says he just saw him come legging it
round the bend, looking terrified and shouting "run Rob,
run!!!", so then they ran into a shopping arcade that was
not all shut up and tried to hide in there, but this weird
dude on a bike came up to them and demanded money and
wouldn't let them get past him etc...

In the end, they just cowered at the train station somewhere
until about 6am and got the first train back to the airport
and the hell outta there...

Said it was the scariest night of their lives.

that sounds absolutly terrifying. some of the people around
the red lights seem dodgy enough when you're just stoned...
on mushrooms paranoia must have taken over summet rotten.
along with the people who are actually dodgy and target
vunerable people lol.

for the love of god, find a proper camp site (or some other
such place to hang around outside) if you're gonna do
mushrooms!

hahahaha yeah. the terrifying mean streets of amsterdam.
psssh. whats the crime rate there? almost nonexistant?

i dunno - i think petty crime/violent crime's quite
high....

it was funny coz they were meant to be going to Amsterdam to
try and start a new life maybe - you know, get jobs and a
flat and shit.....were meant to be there for at least 6
months....they had saved up money and all sorts.

came back after 4 days completely penniless and mentally
scarred.

deffinatly not none existant. if you're carefull and arent
wondering around on mushrooms late at night you'll be fine.
deffinatly some dodgy looking people around though.

ive been 4 times and didnt run into much trouble... except
for this one crackhead who had a knife.. we just went into
the nearest coffee shop and he buggered off. the place can
be quite a maze when you're stoned- one minute you can know
where you are, the next you can end up in some dodgy looking
ally.

speaking of dodgy allys, take a look at the dodgiest ally in
amsterdam... cant remember what they call it but it has a
name. you literally have to side step through it because its
so narrow- red windows on both sides, pimps and such hanging
around. its a sight to behold lol.

Mmm I'm slightly worried about crackheads pulling knifes n
stuff cause we have a couple of girls going with us and they
always get the madheads coming up to them. Be even worse in
the Dam. Saying that they've been before so know what to
expect.

Good tattoo places anyone?

and a nice atmosphere and also lots of good coffee shops...

No probs! Most people say the Bulldog is a good one, it's
fully booked for a month or so as well.

That looks quite decent.

It's close to the warmoesstraat, where conscious dreams is
located, as well as a cheap but good enough chinese
restaurant (about 20 metres apart). Conscious Dreams has a
very nice chill-out area where they serve various lovely
herbal teas. Worth checking out.
In case you have to watch your budget:

imo, a gram of good hash or weed should never ever cost
more than 10 euros, which is more than i'd ever spend, but
these are Amsterdam prices. It might be a good idea to look
around first and compare prices.

If anyone is planning on getting mushrooms: one standard
dose of fresh cubensis (30 grams) should never cost more
than 15 euros. Salvia 10x for example shouldn't cost more
than 20 euros per gram (plenty of doses). Remember that
salvia isn't always pleasant to use (i'd never smoke it in
Amsterdam).

and a link for pink floyd coffeeshop:

I want to live in one of those cozy alleys in a town house
right in Amsterdam. Its my big plan.
