monitor: SDM-HS75P
computer: some sort of fag core 2 duo fucktard shit stack
ball lick

The monitor just says 'no input signal. input 2: hd15. go
to power save'

Do I have to install 'drivers' on it? Well if so how the
FUCK do I install the FUCKing drivers for the FUCKing
monitor on the FUCKing computer, when you need the KCUFing
monitor to see the FCKUing operating system to do fucking
so?

sounds like your card is working at a frequency that your
monitor doesn't like..... but who knows.

I would suggest pouring water on it... usually fixes the
problem right fast.

This is probably kind of obvious, but make sure the monitor
is plugged in to the correct place, and then turn on the
computer. You should at least get the boot messages and
stuff before windows starts. Do you?

Try plugging the PC into the power socket and press the "ON"
button.

No input signal usually means that either the vga/dvi cables
are badly connected, the video card is dead or not inserted
properly... something like that.

Everything is plugged in tight to the right place. This
monitor works fine on my shuttle X (noisy piece of shit that
I hate and won't keep).

I turned off both the monitor and new core 2 duo computer I
got then back on (as the monitor instructions state) and it
says the same thing (no input signal. yada.) No boot
messages or windows/etc. (for the shuttle x though, the
monitor just displays the desktop instantly with no hassles
or need for software/drivers.)

So I guess there's something wrong with the video card or
the frequency. I keep getting delayed by retarded problems
like this. Maybe I ought to just buy old school pentium 3s.
They're probably cheap enough to buy maybe 3 of them per one
of these core 2 duos, so I can find a combination of stuff
that actually works together without going bankrupt, plus
maybe they aren't so friggin noisy. (I hate modern game
consoles so maybe the same is with computers). Shuttle x =
louder than an xbox 360. core 2 duo = loud as a playstation
2 (but livable I guess).

Have you tried messing around with the menus on the monitor?
Try telling it to use VGA (analog).

Ok, I just found the instructions online.

Does your video card have a DVI input, or a VGA input? (If
you don't know, female VGA looks like a bunch of holes, and
female DVI looks like a grill.)

It'll be the build of spunk all over it. Try chisling off
some of the spunk, especially around any cables or contacts,
if the spunk's still wet let it dry then remove it with a
wire or suede brush.

Yes! It has 2 inputs:
input 1 is 'DVI-D'
and input 2 is 'HD 15'

I don't currently have a cord for the dvi-d type and have
only ever used the hd 15 input (but this single input alone
works fine on the shuttle x computer (but not on the 'some
sort of fag core 2 duo fucktard shit stack ball
lick'(potatoes))).

Did you find something that says I am supposed to use the
DVI-D input for some reason? I hope they sell those cords at
wall FKCUing mart.

UFCK!

Does the computer have a model number or manufacturer or
serial number or anything?

It looks like a microwave with a clear side top and bottom.
It was built by someone, not a typical brand name. 'psl mx',
'intel' and 'asus' are the largest fonts on the various crap
inside. It seems to light up and run fine.
The monitor has a dvi d connection but the computer only has
the normal monitor connection, a similar looking one only
with 'outy prongs', and a longer pink one.
This is so gay; why do I bother with technology. It will
never work. I might as well rip up money. I have to go
counterfit some more now, sigh.

It's difficult to tell what exactly is wrong. If it was a
driver or frequency problem, then you should at least get a
splash screen or boot messages when you turn on your
computer, so that (along with the monitor working fine with
the other computer) leads me to think that there is a
problem with your video card.

If it was mine, my next step would be to open it up and make
sure everything is connected inside properly. I'd pull out
the video card and put it back or maybe try it in another
slot if there is another slot, or maybe the video card is
integrated with the motherboard.

If your older computer doesn't have an integrated video
card, it is most likely AGP, if it is pretty old. The video
card (if it isn't integrated) in your new computer is
probably PCI-E, so you probably can't take the video card
out of the old one and put it in the new one, though this is
just a guess--if they are both the same format then it might
be worthwhile to swap them to see if that fixes anything.

Everything is on a single card in the core 2 duo computer
where the monitor doesn't work. I opened it up and
everything appears connected. But I tried this same monitor
on this laptop I'm writing on and got the same 'no input
signal. input 2: hd15. go to power save' message... I would
try to fuck with making it work on this laptop more, but I'm
too afraid I'd mess up and make even the default laptop
screen not work anymore. Then I would be completly without
computer access so would probably commit suicide. Hmm.. I
kind of like how that scenario turns out; maybe I should go
that route. Thanks for the help.

also just messing with the buttons on the monitor doesn't do
anything (even holding down for 5 seconds).

I suspect I'm going to sell this damn computer too. I think
my next strategy will be to go after pentium III's that are
quiet, have good sound and video quality, but not for big
complex 3d games. Just for stuff like fruity loops/python
programming/doom2 with hell revealed and
zdoom/audacity/flash 8. Shit I hope flash 8 pro can run well
on a pentium 3.
