Just got back, and god damn.. It was fucking awesome!

When Chuck D told everyone to get their middle fingers up
and said "what.. the.. fuck.. is.. wrong.. with George W
Bush?" the crowd went ballistic! "Fuck, George Bush! Fuck
Tony Blair, Fuck Condoleezza! Fuck Dick Cheney!" Having that
as a chorus line on a concert where most of the audience are
students is a great crowd trick! They also had some dancing
guys dressed up like US soldiers who spent time oppressing
the people up front, telling them to calm down with angry
gestures.

I was due to see the Enemy but it fell through :( Gutted. I
have seen Chuck D live though but, unfortunately, it was a
talk and not a musical concert. Still, I shook his hand, got
him to sign my copy of Fight The Power!

What did he talk about?

Oh, and Flava Flav.. hahah, fucking awesome! He came out
wearing this huge hoodie and jumped around like crazy. Then,
when the song ended, he stopped and said "hey hey.. wait a
minute.. y'all know something's missing, right?" and then he
unzipped the sweater and revealed the big clock! God damned
classic shit!

Cool.

I'd love to see them performing with the Wu this summer in
the Rock the Bells Festival. And RATM as bonus...
But the States are too far for my pocket...

There was only one thing that kind of sucked yesterday, and
that was the morons behind me... I overheard part of their
conversation, and the one guy had to take a piss, but didn't
want to leave, so he peed in a glass.. and then his mates
were all "Throw it! HA HA Throw it into the crowd!"

And so he did... none of it got on me, but god damned, what
fucking assholes do shit like that?

when they played at atp like 4 years ago i was amazed
i used to love em but had lost interest in their 90's
recordings and didnt expect much but it was almost like
seeing james brown in his prime
a full funk band, flavor flav drumming, like everyone
practice and experience makes perfect, or almost.
fear of a black planet can't be beat to this day tho - so
hip hop it is actually techno
well jealous of freddie fresh being listed in the credits on
that one

Yeah, even the old songs had a fresh feel simply in virtue
of being with a live band. The DJ was also pretty skilled
with his scratches.
