£10 is nothing. Stop being a pikey!

i have seen luke vibert, amon tobin, autechre, dj surgeon
and various others over here in the netherlands for ticket
prices ranging from 4 to 8 pounds. Small and big venues
alike.

I wouldn't mind paying 10 pounds for a ticket if i knew the
beer wasnt going to be expensive, but how much do you pay
for a pint over there?

Maybe you brits have been brainwashed long enough now to
simply accept that everything costs shiteloads of money.

Do yourselves a favor, and take your money elsewhere, if 10
pounds really is 'nothing' to you. You might just get twice
as much out of it in the Netherlands, to name just one
country.

Lovely weather by the way, innit?

Britain has a strong economy and although living costs are
expensive, we generally earn enough money to make everything
balance. It is of course harder for you foreigners, but
well... fuck ya :p

Seriously though, The Attic is a superb venue (Hanfest is
gonna be held there) and the Sequence nights are top-notch.
Good music, awesome soundsystems and a friendly atmosphere.

I wouldn't drink pints in a club though. Bottles only, and
they're generally between £2-3 each. I prefer to drink
water personally, though that isn't much cheaper!

i wouldn't say we're brainwashed at all dude...

and i wouldn't say 'take your money elsewhere either' as
considering you're in holland that's just rude.

we don't put on events to make money - door price is
relevant to costs.

we work hard to do it month in and month out, put decent
parties on covering many genres and basically try to do
something good in manchester...

Don't be so bloody rude. You have no idea how hard these
guys work to consistently put on amazing shows for us. It
might seem like a lot of money but in order to cover the
cost of the venue and the djs, that's just what's necessary.
The majority of people are more than happy to pay, when they
know what an amazing night is in store for them.

it's making me sad not to be living in UK

well i suppose that was rather rude indeed. It's sort of an
automatic reaction of me to compare prices of various things
per country, but i shouldnt have assumed that you make a lot
of money with these tickets.

I just have this aversion to economy in general and i have
the idea we are getting fucked over with the euro currency
as well, hence my poor brainwashing comment. It takes only
little time for people to accept anything their government
feeds them. Some stuff has doubled in price since the euro
but nobody is spending less. Then i see people in england
paying ten pounds for a non-festival night and it just
baffles me, but i should've taken more things into account
(like, its all relative).

Sorry for being an arsehole :/

10 quid is nothing, j198. it's just where you're living that
it's cheap.

again, i'm very sorry. I feel ashamed for what i've said
earlier. I would gladly pay 10 pounds or more to witness one
of these events sometime and i hope CC303 and his crew will
be able to keep organising them for as long as they wish.
