if this isnt a total autechre ripoff then i dont wanna know
what is.

it sounds like gantz graf + draft 7.30

Also, the video looks like crap.

and:

"The two tracks in this vid are off my new album "The
Alkaline Virtuarachnid"... availible.... soon?"

good grief..

Actually, it sounds like you're trying to copy the untilted
live sound, in which you are fairly succesful i'd say so try
to take that as a compliment.

Even though your music is perhaps technically interesting, i
find it absolutely shocking how much you are trying to sound
exactly like autechre. What the fuck, dude?

it's pretty awful, music-wise, in my opinion.

its not intentional -- and im sorry the fact that it sounds
like autechre to you ruins it. i love drum programming and i
love bold kick drums and those dreamy, dauntless drexciyan
style backdrops/tunes. im just playing the music i want to
hear, im not deliberately trying to rip anyone off. if it
makes you feel any better i didn't get payed for that gig
and i played for 45 minutes.

Looks and sounds fun. I like that you have the guts and
drive to actually get up there and do something rather than
just posting tracks on the internet.
I have criticised you in the past for the autechre rip off
sounds but now I think, fuck it, you are making music you
like and almost everyone makes music that sounds like
someone else to an extent...it is just there aren't that
many people who can make 'ae style' music well, you are one
of the better ones.
By the way, while there are some similarities to their music
you are definitely on a different vibe. I still think there
is room for improvement (that goes are almost everyone
though) but I am still impressed.

It's bad you didn't get paid though.

Isn't it completely obvious that a better shooter game
design would be random enemies at more random times instead
of linear. Memorization should play no role in the skill.

ecnad: thanks man-- yeah its unfortunate i didnt get payed,
but... whatever really. nothing broke or messed up and
that's fine with me. the set went smoothly and i got my
ideas across.

wmw: the skill is in bullet dodging and properly timing
attacks on enemies for succesful chain-attacks and
hi-score. the player has so much firepower after a certain
point that attacking doesnt really matter anyway. for
example, in Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou, just after 2 powerups you
have a laser beam that takes up half of the fucking screen,
and deals a ridiculous amount of damage. enemies are very
easy to kill. what makes the game replayable is the bullet
dodging skill, because even though the enemies appear out of
the same place every time -- you as the player can never be
in the same place every time. and of course stuff blows
constantly which is satisfying. its impossible for 2 plays
of a bullet-curtain shooter to be the same: for example (see
pic)

Yeah, I've played similar games and the player being forced
to take a different path through the chaos each time is a
good point. It looks like that game is only available for
import (non usa/canada systems unless modified).
It also makes sense that the chaos would be more interesting
if coming from every direction of the screen (smash tv
sorta- can move/shoot in all directions) instead of forward
only; more interesting pattern dodging potential that way.
Like old school asteroids; that gameplay was very non linear
too due to chaos.
The bosses in these newer shooter games can be spectacular.

I don't think the video and audio quality was that bad.. it
seems like most live bootleg type videos look and sound like
crap anyway.

I didn't really like your drums in this set, they sound
totally random to me, I'm curious to what your music would
sound with funky electro drumming or even four on the
floor.
