Just saw Van Morrison

It was completely awesome. He was very arrogant, and never
spoke to the audience. He let the music speak for itself,
and it was very powerfull. He played a lot from his huge
back cataloque. He even played "brown eyed girl" and "have i
told you lately that i love you" even tho he expressed
distaste in doing this, so i was lucky.

The last track he played was a jam, where he started
chanting "shake your moneymaker", and got the chorus to say
it as well, and just left the stage while the band was still
playing, and left without saying a word.

Awesome. I was in another world most of the time. So, if you
get a chance to see him, do it. Fat little arrogant
irishman, with insane talent.

Cool. He has a right to be arrogant because he is a big fat
juggernaut. I wonder, does he ever play any Them songs live?

I saw him twice, and listened to loads of live recordings
with him, and i've never heard one. Not even "baybe please
don't go". I would really have loved to see him in his "into
the music" period. That album is pure genius. He played
"foreign window" tonight, and it was brilliant.

For all the electric people here, i will reccomend
"Inarticulate speach of the heart". It's very synthesizer
driven, and very melancholy/emotional. It takes some getting
used to, but it's insaly good in my book.

I'd like to see him doing Go On Home Baby live, rocking out
balls to the wall, it would just be interesting. Too bad the
Them era is kind of overlooked. Still he does have such a
great canon, guess it's not really needed.

Them just rock so haard daaamnn

They really do. You're right, they are overlooked. Really
hyperenergetic. Almost punky at times. Still, he's to laid
back to do it now i think. He just stands there and hits
himself with a stiff right arm, and sings his shit. He's a
regular badass!

Actually, i fully understand that. I used to... Well... Not
hate him, but just be completely indifferent to him. Then my
brother got more and more into it, and forced me to listen
to his stuff. It just grows on you. It's really an acquired
taste. Give him many chances, he really deserves it. Some
day, you will find a Van song that strikes a chord with you,
and you will stick with him forever, and his songs will keep
getting better for each listen.
