He's adopted, so theres really no reason why they can't be
together. It's a ok in my book.

But why are they discussing disability in the children in
the article? He comes from a totally different gene pool,
it's not an issue in their case.

If it was 2 biological siblings, i would feel completely
different about it.

he was adopted by another family... the girl is his
biological sister... but they never grew up together. DNA
wise they're family.

Socially on the other hand... they're not related.

Seems alittle tricky... but I guess modern science could
bless their future off spring where nature would curse
them.

I guess if it works... it works.

tricky.

I have no problem with it at all and I'm not sure I
understand why they'd take the children away from them.

How odd. They even fell in love after having heard that they
were siblings.. it's not like it happened before they
knew... I don't really know what to think other than that
they may be the future parents of Wolverine.

Yeah, that part about taking the children I don't get
either.. it could be that they fear their children should be
affected by their parents' attitude or maybe that other kids
would pick on them or something, but that doesn't really set
it apart from gay parents. It could be an indication of
their mental state, though.

Well, the human mind is designed to find the pharamones of
your related humans unattractive. Its a deviation of one
nature or another. Regardless, any babies that they make are
going to have a higher risk of birth defects, and that
likelihood is going to carry further down the genetic line
than just that first child. Its kind of a cruel thing to do
since they don't have a choice.

My opinion on the matter is it would not be wrong if they
were addopted into eachothers family. However, because they
are biological relatives, it is wrong. For various different
reasons it is wrong.

Now the chap has been sterilised, I don't see what the
problem is. I also don't see what taking the children away
at this stage would achieve either?

Historically, incest has been illegal because of the almost
50% chance that the offspring would have a disability. Now
that contraception has come on in leaps and bounds, I'm
suprised that they've not reviewed the laws concerning it. I
certainly don't think the taxpayer should be expected to
pick up the tab to support their inevitably disabled
offspring, or indeed that of any couple who choose to have
children who are likely to be born with aids, etc. At the
same time, it's inhumane to refuse to help the kids once
they're born- it's not their fault.

It's a tricky one, but I think I'd like to see it illegal to
conceive a child with close relative, but they should relax
the laws on having sex with them a bit.

You actually made me think about this, Ezkerraldean...
Congs.

I came to the conclusion, that they shouldnt be aloved to
have children, in the same way people with downs arent
allowed. The risk is too high of getting a deformed baby,
and even if the child turns out normal, think about when it
begins going to school... They will never have a normal
life. I do think that they should be allowed to have sexual
relations tho, he should just have been neutered from the
beginning, and no-one would have noticed/cared i think.

Are people with downs really forbidden to have children? How
about people with bad asthma? Where do you draw the line and
how can it be coherent?

actually have an insaly big sexual drive, that they act out

Fair play. Brain would be more accurate. I don't spell

do spell fairly poorly when I am online.

True. Ofcourse they can. But still... It might seem a bit
rough, but deep down in my heart, i feel it's more humane to
avoid this. But you have a point. I actually think people
with downs are in pure bliss.. I mean... Look at them. Not a
care in the world. If there is one, they forget it in 5
minutes.

Brain would be more accurate to express what you meant, yes,
but one question still remains: are you sure that the human
brain is made so that you automatically reject your siblings
based on their pheromones?

well, it is rough...maybe if you lived in a more inclusive

pitiful disabled people from ever having to be born. umm,
not to be dramatic or anything.

Cool. I knew i would get this kind of response to posting
this oppinion, and i see where you're coming from. My basic
filosofy of how society should work, is just that people
should suffer as little as possible, and i believe
restricting these kinds of things will make people suffer
less.
