Any fans of Richard Wagner here? I've decided to fully
explore his operas after having heard bits & pieces over the
years. I guess I'm at an age now where I might be able to
cope with sheer scope and dense complexity of his music.

Starting with Das Rheingold and working my way on
from there. In a couple of years I'll probably be ready to
go to the Opera and see his work performed in all of its
majesty.

Wherever one goes these days one is pestered with the
question: what do you think of Wagner?

Richard Wagner hated Jews.
Yes I love Richard Wagner!

I'm sorry, are the Jews exempt from detractors now? Are they
Untouchable?

I dont know if Jews are untouchable, but chances are some
greasy old rich Jew produced and financed the hit movie "The
Untouchables," which starred Kevin Kostner and Sean Connery.

I still can't get into him. It's like, I know there's a lot
going on in the music, and I know it's very skilled writing,
but I just always find the experience frustrating for some
reason.

Hitler was a big fan, I think.

Have you seen the Ricky Gervais sketch regarding Hitler and
Nietsche? Very funny indeed.

I like him but the first thing that comes to mind when I
think of him is Evil Wagner from Lisztomania. I doubt he was
really that evil.
