I think mine would begin with Brian Eno entrancing, saying "I'm Brian Eno", and then exploding.
A dream line-up in a paul f savage benefit tribute concert would include the following:
Talking Heads King Crimson / The Nice duelling to the death Pink Floyd (circa 1970) Pavement The KLF John Carpenter Jimi Hendrix Public Enemy
with the evening ending with a full-scale rendition of the Beethoven's 9th, 4th movement.

Obviously, after that rousing finale, the crowd would lose control of their usual restraint, and wreck the gaff!

I've only heard Rachmaninov's 1st piano concerto being played live - I wasn't that impressed: his other two are much more dope.

David Bowie at my son's birthday party performing "The Laughing Gnome" and some of his very early, quirky numbers.

I downloaded an awful collection of early Bowie tracks... I couldn't make it even half-way through. Truly terrifying, yet amazing how he transformed from that to the creation of some electrifying albums in the early 1970s.

As I recall, it wasn't necessarily the song-writing, more the production -- If I remember rightly, it sounded like fairground music.

yeah the first is shite. impressive for the age at which he wrote it though.
but that concerto, and that performance.. amazing.. i saw a (swedish, i think) guy perform it in the national concert hall and i have to say it was one of the most utterly profound and moving experiences i've ever had.
overwhelming.
