welcome to the board.....

venetian snares is horribly over-rated.......... but if you
like him, then go for it......

i prefer his live sets (the well recorded ones, of course)
to his albums.

however, i must say that "epidermis" is one of the best
songs i've ever heard.

the only people who overrate him are his diehard fans. and
they're getting pretty slim.

well Venetian snares has many different "styles" if you
will. He has a more experimental and wacky side like
""Winter In The Belly Of A Snake" and "chrome cyldiner box
unfolding" , both of those sound very different from one
another however. He also does a lot of entertaining cutup
plunderphonic remixing of sampled music like on "Higgins
Ultra Low Track Glue Funk Hits 1972 - 2006" hits or "Rossz
Csillag Alatt Született" (plunderphonic drum and bass
reworkings of hungarian folk music). My favorite material by
him however is the hardcore straight up breakcore gabber
stuff which includes
"Meathole" and "Winnipeg Is A Frozen Shithole" (my personal
favorite). check out his earlier releases too for a more
experimental approach to breakcore, kind of in a
transitional stage - "Making Orange Things" and
"printf("shiver in eternal darkness/n"); " <-- both of these
are very hardcore but not as formulaic as meathole and
winnipeg.

overall he has a very diverse catalog and he has so much
material i havent heard probably 1/3rd of it

I don't like his music, go listen to some Black Dog instead
dude.

Thank me later.

'well Venetian snares has many different "styles"'

You're kidding, right? He has one style, and that is
tiresome at best.....

iondivvy, Bob is on the money, go listen to The Black Dog.

My suggestion actually.

Make sure you check out Black Dog in their pre-Plaid guise,
that is when they were REALLY on the money.

Also the Unsavoury Products album. Ouch.

Talking about overrated. The old Black Dog is pure shit. I
don't understand why people even like it. Maybe to look more
intelligent than others by stalking dead old bands.
Plaid isn't that good either. Only one album I really like,
the rest are OK.

black dog is damn good but i dont see the comparison.
from the perspective of someone who's only heard chrome box
venetian snares does seem to do many different styles.if
today was a different day i might talk shit about his
stagnant composition technique , but today is not that day.

if you still think of getting more snares I recomend:

doll doll doll
a giant alien force
printf

Doyobi's latest release, the Kphanapic Fragments.

Spanners - Turbo Review.
First reaction: EWWWWWWWWWWWW what a fugly album cover.

The music sounds alright. Pretty boring though on most of
the tracks, and lots of cheese.
Tahr is GOOD though mmmm. I quite like it! Very nice melody,
has it's unique Plaid feel.
Frisbee Skip sounds rather good too.
Chesh is pretty.

The rest is emotionless mumbo jumbo electro. Overall rating:
Low low low. 3/19 = less than 1/10.

Fragments will appeal more.....

The Flashbulb - Kirlian Selections
Even though it's not even the same style, but electronic
music is a wide genre.

And I don't see how can anyone compare The Black Dog to
Venetian Snares, but whatever.

I listened about 5 times to it overall. It's good as
background music, when I'm doing something (like cleaning
the place), but for some reason it sounds very boring when
I'm listening for the sole reason of music. Guess it's not
my style.

And Team Doyobi sounds alright by the way.

I guess not. Never mind, go back to listening to V. Snores
and trying to master Ableton Live so you can make lush drill
music.

Oh my, sounds like I hit a nerve. When someone needs to get
so defensive and resort to Ad Hominem in order to protect
his favorite band, you start to question the band's talent.

And just for the record: VSnares is not my favorite, so you
kind of missed.
