For the gamers here; What music did you listen to when you were playing this or that game? Out of simple interest
for me: Quake1: BoC - A Few Old Tunes vol 1 and 2 Doom and Doom II: Beastie Boys, and even more when i was still level editing for Doom, back in them days
go!

I generally just leave the default music playing. But for Oblivion, I made a nice custom ambient soundtrack. It works really well.
BTW, Q1 has a fantastic soundtrack.... no need to change it!

I always listen to the default, although I too made a custom Oblivion soundtrack, full of classical music. For such a big game, Oblivion has a really tiny soundtrack, repeats ad nauseum.

Robocop games always have kickass soundtracks for some reason. The first level theme from Robocop vs Terminator is just so phat, I don't know why people hate Tommy Tallarico so much.

Three years too late but now that I think of it, I did listen to a lot of Black Sabbath/Metallica/Megadeth/etc back in the day playing Goldeneye multi-player extravaganzas, and I'm often reminded of it when I listen to that music.

Eno goes well with Counterstrike: I had it playing once while my brother was playing CS and he loved it; enhanced and eeriefied.

hmm, once i get over a games soundtrack or whatever, i'll normally play music while playing games. some connections i can think would beee..
selected ambient works 2 disc 1 for gta vice city. huge chrome cylinder box unfolding for orbox. the avalances since i left you - ratchet and clank 2 mitch hedberg albums for pro evolution soccer 5.
ooh, a good one was thom yorke's the eraser for ico. it almost seems the album was made for the game with the smallness of it all, and in the song atoms for peace "no more falling down a blackhole that i have to pull you out."

On the topic of game soundtracks, I bloody hate games where you can't mute the music independantly of the sound. Also, ones where the dialogue counts as "music" rather than "sound" as it so obviously should.
Fah, what's the deal with Quake/A few old Tunes? Did you not play Quake until years after its release, or were you a member of the "Elite IDM rarity-trading brotherhood"(TM) who had a few old tunes back in the mid-90s?

Frenchcore is best described as the sound of two men slapping their cocks into each others face at 200bpm in a somewhat syncopated fashion.
