hm, yes and no to this EP
kinda like the title track though, the rest sounds pretty
much the same as he always makes, but abit slower. Again,
knowing snares' music, you can't judge it on the samples,
you must hear the whole thing at once

offline OK on 2007-02-11 14:04 [#02048830]

1 sounds like a very boring piece
2 could be ok
3 sounds like it's really really bad
4 sounds as boring as 1
5 sounds sooo uninteresting.

I dunno what is it about snares that I hate. He appears to
be really good but...

I dont think that's the case, he's got something that makes
him so boring. I think that after drukqs, this genre lost
all life.

heh. just to clear ANY confusion.. my previous statement of
'i don't care' was directed towards hedphukkerr, and not the
upcoming venetian snares EP, which i care very very much
for.

with things like this, and from what i've read from when
previous snares releases came out, it seems there are people
who, no matter what vsnares brings out, they will either say
its more of the same or something similiar. i know it's one
of those things you gotta get used to while posting on an
electronic music message board like this one right here, but
it still seems silly.

all this said..
march is going to be a joyous month for me.

I don't get how people feel so appalled that there is
something out there they don't like, as if they have some
god-given right to demand that they must think everything
that's put in front of them is amazing. It's like there
isn't any other music out there.

I love it myself and look forward to this one.

he'll 'grow' and change when he feels like it, but i
personally kinda like the fact that all of his 'venetian
snares' work is breakcore and i hope it stays like that
forever, i'm certain his other works are under different
names and different styles/genres. if you don't like it STFU
already

I don't think anybody in the world thinks like that,
not even mad people. What you don't "get" is that some
people are quite happy to spend time slating something that
they don't like, something that the possibly find laughably
shit. What you find appalling is that such people wantonly
waste precious time on such a negative activity in response
to the irreproachable creative endeavours of an artist,
possibly spoiling the enjoyment that others might derive
from buying the same record in a different sleeve several
times a year.

But these same "negative" people manage to derive their own
enjoyment out of something that would otherwise, on its own,
just cause them grief. So in actual fact, calling each and
every Venetian Snares release "formulaic piss waste" is
pro-active, poisitve, resourceful and, for some, spiritually
uplifting.

It's one of his worst releases for sure. It's rushed,
over-hyped, and not even imaginative, and quite frankly
annoying.

I fucking love his other recent stuff, like cavalcade, but
since then it's gone down hill.

I wish him the best and that he spends a bit more time
inventing, though who am I to say such things, but hey, keep
releasing Mr Snares, I look forward to your next one
(hopefully a nice big yummy album ~I'm not really liking
these small EP's)

i don't enjoy newer vsnares much at all. too bad, because he
honestly made some of the greatest electronic music i've
heard back a few years ago with find candace, 7 sevens med,
printf, higgins etc.

i'm just tired of the technique he's employing these days,
it seems to saturate every damn track.

The techniques he uses aren't really the main downside..
with cavalcade, he reinvented, went into a new direction
that hadn't been done before... but he seems to have lost
the excitement, since his last two releases... they've kind
of been off shoots from cavalcade... I also distinctly
remember one of the parts he took from that album and put it
on one of the ep tracks... I can't remember what bit exactly
now, but if you listen to each track you will find it.

Oh and, the melody is the biggest let down on this release.
