in 5 minutes, at 5 to 8 pm, i and hopefully a ton of other people will turn off all lights, so that our planet may rest for 5 short minutes.
This is not my initiative and i cannot be arsed to find a link in english which explains the whole project, but it would make me very happy if you'd all contribute. Just 5 minutes, at 7:55pm your time.
Cheers.

RUHE! RUHE BITTE!
yeah it's already 5 to 7 here. can't see me convincing the people i live with that this is a good idea.
the lights around the house are usually left on overnight, as are electric heaters, for the one reason that "we don't have to pay the bill" :(

I was actually trying to write a.. what's it called? It's like an article that you can send to newspapers, and it's not called an article..
Anyway, a psychologist here in Norway had done some research and found out that in order to make people do something about anything, you had to kind of inform them of the consequences of not doing anything and at the same time avoid a "moralising" (the word usually has a negative connotation in Norwegian for some reason) tone 'cause that turned people off. I was trying to write something about how people tend to pick and choose what they see as good advice, a warning and a moralizing statement, all depending on how good they like the advice they're getting: if you warn them not to step backwards 'cause then they'll fall off a ledge, they're happy to hear it, but if you, with the same intention (warning), tell them to ride a bike to work instead of driving, they get pissed because you're pointing a finger at them and being moralizing.
However, I'm having trouble writing it in a way where it isn't as obvious that I hate most people.

i usually dont use much of my lights anyway. i use the light that i need in the room iam in, any other lights are turned off, as well as any other things that need electricity.

just use electricity normally. if someone else turns their lights off, someone else will balance out the goodness y turning their on.l theres no point. progress towards renewable energy will ony happen when the poil actually runs out, its inevitable in out modern capitalist owrld etc
