he does continue to consistently come out with fresh tunes, although, i wouldn't go so far as to say they're any more ground breaking today than they were, let me think, maybe 12 years ago, he was definately ahead of his time back then, but time has surely caught up up with him at this point, but i doubt it will ever pass him by completely, he does however, manage to be able to cahnge his sound evolving from the typical old drillnbass/trance/ambient/industrial to the funk/pop/acid/techno style and quite easily switches back and forth for which ever moniker suits his particular fancy at any given moment. it all comes down to personal opinon and since that's what polls are designed to reflect, i cannot say that he is without a doubt, the greatest electronic musician of all time. he is definatlely one of the few at the very top along with others who have helped forged new paths in the direction of electronic music. but the supreme being? considering artists from decades past? no. he is the most relevant, i'll give him that much, since he is the last great innovator to still be around making music today, that's for sure. |
