You can emulate them pretty well yourself if you just follow
this proven w M w formula:
1) Try to make the worst music possible
2) Use the least effort possible
3) Make them as quickly as possible
4) Use terrible software called modplug tracker

Which is your favorite one, and I will cook you up something
special from my gaseous innards that is similar to it.
If it is air ze man, I didn't make that; it's from megaman 2
for nintendo.

air ze man and marlowe222 are classic videogame music type
tracks - my daughter actually pushed me out of the way to
stand in front of the laptop and speakers to better listen
to air ze man!

Don't use those new fangled phone and emulation gizmos. If
you don't get a flashing blue screen 5 times before you
successfully play the game you're not getting the full
experience.
Also doensn't my music just plainly objectively suck from
every angle; I don't get it.... I don't get it... I DON'T
GEEEEET IIIIIT! it stiiiilll has the break beats, what do
you think... here's the link.

it's fresh and original, not trying to please any certain
demographic which translates well and is easily acceptable
and understodd by the mebers here.

I'm afraid to say I've never played it. :(
I've never played NES, played SNES maybe once, never really
had much exposure to nintendo. shocking but true.

The game actually isn't all that fantastic. The entire
series falls into too rigid of a formula. The first 3 were
the best.. mm, they were fun but the gameplay is linear. But
the MUSIC is some of the best ever. Listen to the
'bubbleman' and the 'gemini..etc man' tracks I uploaded from
megaman 2 and 3 if you want. Airman rules. Woodman is really
powerful, sounds like 8 different simultaneous melodies all
doing the same thing somehow. And I love the megaman 'conga'
drum or whatever like in airman. That's a recurring sound.
The tracks I made are basically me making fun of music.

I made another terrible track called penislord, it's like at
the same site you know like the link is somewhere up there
or something.

Why did you fuckers make me waste my time making more
pointless (terrible sounding) music by giving me extremely
underserved positive comments.

don't oversaturate the market, rdj maybe puts out an
equivalent of a few songs every few years. and he's got his
own message board. and people on that message board worry
about when he's gonna release more in such a frenzy that
really he could poop on a stick and they'd still buy it.

I've always been a huge fan of Megaman's music, and not just
for the novelty of it, as in "it's good for a videogame",
but as in--it's actually good. The same is true of the game
Zanac. That game's got some killer tracks on it, too. Wish I
had a way to convert it somehow. Wait, maybe I do!

offline sirmailbox from chicago area (United States) on 2007-01-24 00:40 [#02037115]

Ok I managed to log a file of one of the tracks from Zanac.
Unfortunately some of the best music in the game is far into
it, and it takes a while to get to the higher levels.

In the sound file you hear a few weird Buaallllrrr sounds
that interrupt the music -- that's me dying. Hard to play
without shooting anything. And the music at the end is the
game over music.

ya know for a 30 second song 'marlowe222' has the potential
to be an even better song if you were to ever expand on it.
the possibilities are endless. seriously, fun stuff!

Nah, it cheats being entertaining by going fast like
squarepusher. I could play megaman music at a faster speed,
but it already sounds fantastic at normal speed and doesn't
blindly loop. I just have no concept of chords despite
people trying to explain it to me. The changes in megaman
snakeman are impossible for me. Even making something as
good as as the first 'bar' that loops eternally is hard.

Penislord was a dope track - are those voice samples or did
you record them yourself?

I didn't make most of them; I'm just using zebox to share
videogame music I like. All the ones that sound good aren't
mine.

I recorded the voice samples myself. They are 'doo', 'dee',
'daa' all in the same note.
