Ca$h for your beats.

Cash for your beats
if you win their competition.

You have to use their sounds, but fortunately you can get a
sample pack here.

USA and Canadian entrants only.

BTW, if you want to win, do a danceable, repetative
crunk/hip hop styled one, or something that sounds like the
Neptunes. A 1337 IDM one with rapid lfos on sound's filters
and panning will get you nowhere with them.

Exactly. Imagine what you could do with their stuff (my
favourite drum hit sound place).

vveerrgg:

They also do (the same) samples for mpcs at "MPCsounds.com"
I imagine they will be able to enter the contest too. Get on
the case mate!

The terms and conditions say you have to be a "customer" who
"owns" a loop or sample set.

# I am eligible to enter this contest because I am a
customer owning at least 1 ModernBeats Soundest/Loopset and
I am a legal US or Canadian resident.
# Proof of your ownership will be verified by ModernBeats
Inc upon entry. If you are not a customer upon entry, your
entry and beat submission will be void.

check the FAQ too - if you ordered some beats on your dad's
credit card they want to know who paid for it, etc.etc.

Also they want to know your name, age, address, hormone
levels, thoughts on the colour furple etc.

Ah, sorry folks- I didn't read that far into the rules
(because I can't enter myself, being from Blighty).

There are a couple of nice kicks in the free sample pack, so
it's not a total loss.

They're my favourite place for single hit drum samples by a
long way. Their loops aren't spectacular, but they're better
than most too.

ModernBeats libraries will
provide the edge I need!

To be fair to them, at least modernbeats/mpcsounds sounds
actually are used by top hip hop acts. An awful lot of
sample manufacturers brag about this, but never back it up.

Remember I mailed you those remixes before? I included a
backdoor into your computer in them and I use it to steal
your work in progress tracks from time to time.

It's getting out of hand.

If you like I could steal the track concerned from your HD

I think you just posted a new track because you lost the old
one. Here's the original.

target=_blank>dog_belch's track was a fake. This is
the real version he doesn't want you to hear!

I think I finally sorted out my Web Architecture. I found
some tracks I haven't listened to for ages. Do you ever
listen to your own tracks and think "Fucking hell, I am the
greatest electronic music artist of the last 10 years" ? I
do, however unfounded it may be.

My favourite thing is driving in the car and having an old
CD of dozens of different mp3s on shuffle, hearing a track
and thinking, fuck this is good, what is it? Only to later
realise when you get it to a pc and can see the track
titles.

Another good one is finding the start of a track in your
work in progress folder, that you have absolutely no
recollection of making and can't even attribute the
timestamp to when you were doing music- "WTF? I made 10
techno tracks at 5.30am on Monday morning?!"

The flipside of that is once I came into the room whilst
"Snot" by LFO was playing and for 1 blissful nanosecond I
thought "Damn, I'm good", until I twigged.
