Has Madonna returned her stolen goods?

Has there been a follow-up to this story? I know the father
was waiting patiently in darkest Africa for his child to be
returned to him.

i saw him on television a tad later, and he was wearing new
clothes and had a big grin on his face. his strategy
probably worked.

urgh... i dont really read the madonna gossip. but i guess
the little geezer's in a good situation with her, and can
always go back to his dad when he's 18 with loads of money
to share and make everyone happy.

You've almost completely parroted what the bitch herself
said. Typical Western arrogance. "I was saving him from
having to be African. Now he can be American and help
save the world."

Stolen goods? You mean the music fads she has ruthlessly
latched onto over the past 20 or so years? God I hate
Madonna.

Typical! A celebrity does something good, probably with the
best intentions, and is basically crucified for it!

Depends on how you take it. Seems fishy to me that the
father went along with it first, and then decided later that
she kidnapped his kid. Seems he's going for publicity and
money, but maybe that's just me.

And if the father did consent to Madonna taking custody of
his son, then what's wrong with it? I hardly think he'd have
a hard life!

Points: 24588 Status: Lurker | Followup to The_Funkmaster: #02029413

Wait there -- were you present at the proceedings? Because
the father says he certainly didn't hand over his child to
Madonna for her to fly him to America. He was totally
hoodwinked. And does parenthood mean so little to you that
you think it's OK to separate a child from his parent so you
can "educate" it and bring it up in some grotesque form of
childhood? You have sunk to new fucking lows you scumbag. I
hope you'll feel ashamed of yourself when you look back upon
the words "..what's wrong with it? I hardly think he'd have
a hard life!" Go buy an iPhone you moronic puddle.

Heh, you're such a loser. Were YOU at the proceedings? The
father said he didn't have over his child after the fact.
All I'm saying is it seems like he agreed to it at first,
realzed he'd have a chance to drain some money out of
Madonna, and then changed his story.

And yes, I think it's fine for the child to be raised by
someone other then their real parents, if the parent agrees
to this, or if the environment where the child would be
raised is to bad. Celebrities usually take a bad rap
whenever they do something good. It's like a lose lose
situation for them because they're almost expected to use
their money and influence for good, yet they're criticized
if they do. So I guess this time I'm just taking the view
that maybe the celebrity wasn't doing this only for a
publicity stunt.

As I said, the father of the child said he never
consented to it. Because he's not a famous rich white
celebrity you disbelieve him? Because he's a poor black
African you think he and the child's family are unfit to
raise the child? And you call me a loser?

That man is waiting for his child to be returned to him, his
child, and you're going on about celebrities getting
a bad rap...

I don't know either way what the intentions of Madonna or
the father were in this situation, and niether do you
despite what the father said after the fact. I'm just saying
that it's probably just as likely that the father agreed to
give Madonna his son, and then changed his mind to try and
get money out of Madonna as it is that Madonna kidnapped the
child. But hey, I can't be 100% sure, just giving my
opinion. If you think I'm an idiot because of that, fine.
I'm sure I'll survive knowing your opinion of me has been
tarnished!

its said that utterly dirt poor families are often far
happier than those who watch televisions in separate rooms.

You accuse some innocent unknown African of seeking
publicity by selling his baby to Madonna, and then wonder
why you look like a fucking idiot?

Yes, often times they probably are. They probably don't know
any better. However, how would it suck to have some rich
person offer to give you a better life? If everyone
consented to it, how is that bad? Just because the rich
person would raise the kid doesn't mean the kid would never
have contact with his real family. Maybe the kid would be
able to go to college and make a better life for himself,
and then provide a better life for his real family.

they know better in the sense that they are closely knit,
and value each others company far more than material
pursuits. they more a person is given, the more they want
for, its an endless cycle.

I'm not wondering why I look like a fucking idiot, I'm
wondering how you can spout some much trash over the years
and still not be banned.

Man, I really could care less what you think of me, or
anyone else here for that matter. I quit posting on this

just ruined the site and just made it a chore to use. I see
you're still at it, so maybe I'll lose interest again.

sure there's a celebrity out there waiting for you to leap
to their defence. Why not defend Mel Gibson and say how he's
been unfairly treated.

fathers in africa don't want to have anything to do with
their kid if the mother dies. a female next of kin, a
grandma, an aunt is supposed to raise the child. if there
isn't one the child is screwed.
this is what i heard concerning aids-made orphans. i don't
know wether this is the exact same case here.
i do however think madonna thought she did a good thing, and
also most probably did.
i think marlowe is are the arrogant one in post [#02029319].
because you could just explain your point of view to the
less enlightnent ones instead of calling people arrogant

Madonna is initiating her global campaign to adopt at least
one child from each continent on Earth (Antarctica
included). I'd be surprised if Parker and Stone hadn't
already put out a South Park episode based on this.
