i've been setting up this ol' G3 all day - pretty nostalic, but now I wanna set it up for use on the internet for my girlfriend. The only problem is that half the stuff I downloaded requires Toast for burning/opening disk-images.
Does anyone out there have a old copy of Toast 5 for OS 9? please email me at steven@stvn.net

On the Apple page the specs for OSX says G3 is minimum requirement. I think you should try it. If it works it saves you from a lot of hassle. If it doesn't, you could always switch back.

yeah - but first i'll need a danish copy - then i'll need a bigger harddrive (that's doable cuz it's IDE drives in this one) - then I need more RAM (that's also doable, but i'm not sure it supports the ones I have around) - then I need a DVD drive (also doable, but i'm not sure the Samsung multidrive I have is supported on mac).
And then the fact that the processor is only a 266Mhz.
It's like building a whole new computer, and all might not work so it might be waste of time.

it's been a while since i worked with os9, but i think i used to mount the dmg diskimages with toast, there might be a program that does the biz out there, but i havent really needed one since i upgraded to osx.
