I opened this thread even if it said "recycle only". Now I
feel a bit naughty

I got this record player but for some reason when I connect
it to my hifi volume is very low... at least a lot lower
than cd or tape .... so I dont know what could be
happening... any ideas?

my hi fi is a YAMAHA AX E-100

For a minute there I thought pigs could actually fly.

About the low volume: find the manual of your yamaha. It
should be explained there. Most amplifiers have a special
input for recordplayers because they need more
'amplification' (usually the phono input).

Do not plug it in a line input, dude. Turntables need a
phono input that amplifies the signal and has a RIAA preamp
that applies a hard EQ curve in order to sound properly.

look for an input that has a ground next to it. If there is
no ground anywhere on your amp, you'll need to buy a
turntable amp or a mixer of some sort to put in-between.
