Whats the best Samurai movie you've seen. I've seen most
of the stuff by Kurosawa (sp?) and I'm looking for something
more modern.

Any suggestions?

What did you think of Ran?

Maybe Onibaba for a spooky take on the samurai thing?

I can't remember if I've seen it, so i'm downloading it. I
think I saw it years ago, lots of guys on horseback with
flags, huge, dusty battle scenes?

I'm afraid I don't like horror as a genre...... I scare
easily. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I would really love a modern, well made, beautifully shot
(lush) samurai movie. Striking scenery (and architecture),
beautiful costumes, and wicked armour, swords and
hyper-realistic fight scenes.

Can someone please make the movie?

Onibaba is AMAZING! Its not really a samurai film in the
traditional sense though...

Have a look at the criterion collection, there have some
good one, Sword of Doom, Harakiri...

Twilight Samurai is a good recent one

OK, just finished watching Ran, and I hadn't seen it before.
Intense. More like watching theater than film. The
performance by the old man was outstanding, and Kurusowa as
always directed beautifully.

The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise. Greatest underground
Samurai movie ever made.
