hello
good to be finally back online and able to spend a bit of
time around here again (it's been what? a year?) some of you
may not remember me but thats ok, we'll get all aquainted
again and shit... anyway, what i'm most excited about is the
full length maudlin album which we are currently mixing, and
spent 8 days in a totally top notch studio recording...
(best and worst 8 days of my life) anyway, have 2 unfinished
mixes up on our myspace page if you wanna check em out...
keen to hear what you guys think... a lot more electronic
and heavy than we were this time last year... let me know
what you think (good or bad)!
maudlin myspace

ta
_james.

I am still here. Lovely to see you again teapot. Sadly, I
once again fall victim to myspace's bloody awful music
player that either incessently plays a track over and over
again (if it's a page with rubbish music) or refuses to play
at all (if it's something I actually want to hear). Are you
hosting the tracks anywhere else?

Also, what's you email addy these days? It'd be good to
talk.

As was covered years ago...'Maudlin' is a bad choice for an
introduction to your music. She, the vocalist sounds like a
karaoke Erica Badu impressionist, I liked some of the piano
parts though.

oh fair enough... she's one of those girls people either
love or hate it seems

sounds cool, diggin the girls voice and the way it fits in
with the music. "ceres" is really cool, the beginning with
the piano, strings, and vocals is lovely.

about the similarities between this vocalist and Badu - some
of the tones are similar but they're really two completely
different styles of singing, IMO.

thanks for checking it out mate, yeah... ceres is by far my
favorite track, skip 09 is another fave, its a bit heavier
and when we played it live last it sounded really heavy and
in the moment i wrapped my keyboard around the laptop...
expensive to fix!

i listened to the 3 downloadable tracks on that site: ceres,
sumire and skip9.

i can imagine they'll do well, but for me they each seem to
be of similar a mould and i think i'm closer to hating the
vocalist, rather than loving her.

i'll give them another listen later on, when i don't have to
worry about waking anyone up.

listened. like this less than Ruby and Often Times. Their
sound seems milder to me.

Scrap that. I found some headphones on the computer next to
me.

I have to say wow because the amount some of things have
changed sine i last heard anything. Ruby sounds really good.
This is a great track. very well produced from what i can
make out too. Skip 9 is really excellent as well. I wasn't
really expecting the distortion but it really works very
well, it sounds like an unusual chord sequence to which i
like. Ceres is also very nice i really like the strings. To
be honest man everything here sounds fantastic. Keep up the
good work man.

: )
