It's a MMORPG, kinda like Worlds of Warcraft only
nonviolent. We used it for a college class a couple years
back.. it was fun.

I think the key to enjoying Second Life is exercising your
creativity and getting into the social aspects. It's not
gonna be as interesting to folks who have to have an
external quest supplied.

There was an article on it in The Times a few weeks back.
The general conclusion (although couched in more polite
terms) was that the participants in it were sad cunts.

I hate your life, I'd find it hard to justify subscribing to
a service in order to suffer amongst multiple Monoids.

It's crazy. I've read that there's like $200+ million in
real actual dollars exchanged in that game annually now.

You might think XLT is bad and hanging out here making sarky
comments or banging on about Aphex Twin a decade after he
made a good record... but I only have to dip a toe into
Something Awful, and then follow pretty much any link from
there... the reams and reams and reams and reams of words
and shit these people write, billions of words arguing for
or against things that don't matter. Something Awful I don't
find amusing as it's just a scarey as the worst corners of
the internet, massive tracts of several thousand words kind
of saying the same thing over and over using all sorts of
weird references to obscure American bullshit like "coming
on like Buck T.Moltengore in 70s cop drama Streets of Rabbit
Valley which was made famous during the Colon gate scandal
that rocked the 4th second chamber of the house of
non-representatives that still has ramifications with
today's bid by the low baller from upstate, Brad McIntye
Goldberg, 161st in the Fortune 500 laziest motherfuckers
league currently in talks with GROxx Pharmaceticals over
...." and on and on.

Oh wow, look at that. Something Awful updated their design
and now looks less like itself and more like everything else
on the web. Hooray for blandness and crushing homogeneity.

somethingawful can be really creative and well written:

LAZY_TITLE

Also a great review of dragon warrior 1 that I can't find
about axing slimes in the face and waking up from a sleep
spell with your pants undone.
