does anyone rate this album? ive given it a few listens and i quite like it. interesting to make an entire album out of circuit bent toys and although some of it is a bit shit he does get some nice sketchy sounds clip and guff here.

hehe, I'd rather have my circuit bent kit sampled then sequenced instead of fully live.

think the LP is sampled. only the live shows are 'live'. know what you mean though. any time i circuit bend anything i just record the noise i can get out of it then stick it in to songs rather then trying to tweak stuff over a track that 70% of the time you cant predict.

What is Circuit-Bending? I would investigate on Wikipedia, but it isn't loading up for me.

circuit bending is taking a premade circuit (such as the insides of a toy steering wheel or a yamaha QY10) and modifying them with resistors or by grounding them etc. to produce noises that that machine would not normally make. a lot of fun if you have even a glancing interest in electronics and can sometimes produce awesome results. check here for examples and links.

I'd really like to learn how to circuit bend. My little cousin has a couple toys that already sound quite awesome. Theres this toy guitar that has about 40 notes on it. Sounds more like a piano. It's a very thin toy for that many sounds, soldering and such would probably be near impossible.

Yeah, but I'm more into recording what it throws out, then finding what sounds like a hi-hat, or a kick, or even a snare. Then I take these into a sampler....
