Final Fantasy 12, which I've basically been playing for
about 48 hours straight, and a pile of CDs, because this is
the least inspired Final Fantasy soundtrack ever.

Returned some stuff to ikea, bought some xmas decorations.
Helped a friend put up their tree. Had a chinese takeaway.
Watched the final of I'm a celebrity... played some Bully on
PS2. Got frustated (again) with how a great game is ruined
by some bugs that make you restart it (and lose your
progress). Played some silent hill 2, still stuck on the
apartments, reinforced my opinion that it has atmosphere in
spades, but is actually rather tedious and indeed, a bit
shit. Did a 3 track ambient EP in about an hour and a half.
This was using patches and samples I'd already made, so it's
not like I did 3 tracks completely from scratch, but I'm
very happy with the result for the time spent. Now I'm
watching police, camera, action, with the sound off whilst
listening to the EP.

Off to bed now as tomorrow I'm road testing a new motorbike
(that you can't even buy yet) and would rather not chuck the
thing down the road due to tiredness.

Went out in my shitty hometown for the first time in ages
while I'm home from uni for the weekend. Saw some girls who
used to be minging at school but now I would like to sex.
Didn't approach them. Walked home.

+
beautiful graphics, art, and world
I love the ''real-time'' battle system
gigantic, far bigger than the puny and cramped FFX
quite challenging
billions of sidequests and miscellaneous activities
Fran has a really sexy accent

-
pretty ho-hum story and a lame androgynous lead character
(as usual)
a little TOO challenging at times. Probably. I'm massively
overlevelled though. Some of the optional ''uber-bosses''
and hardcore sidequests are pissing me off.
worst FF soundtrack ever, devoid of personality and
eclecticism

Flawed but awesome and seems optimized for maximum
addictiveness. I mean, I know I'm wasting my time gaining
all these levels and shit, but I can't stop, it's so
satisfying. FFX, I was just going through the motions, not
bothering to put as much effort as I'm putting into this.

this can probably count as friday night because it's a dream
I had before I woke up today

I dreamt that large amounts of coffee had been spoiled and
that there was mould growing on it. Me and a friend had to
use shovels and put it in special bags before we cleaned up
the places it had been lying, but then we were just goofing
around and made things worse and then the boss yelled at us,
but we didn't care and went to a bar instead.

Somehow, I ended up at a party with Grace Jones and her
producer's family. She was bizarre, and I felt distinctly
out of place with my shitty clothes and shitty accent. The
food and drink was very nice, though, and I ended up in a
conversation about Platonic forms and the New Testament,
which is always good.

I worked till 11:00, smoked some herb and watched X Files
(the one where the guy's heads get severed and he grows
another one in its place).

Now I'm gonna watch some Colbert Report off the tivo.

surely, to post about your saturday night, you'd
require a different thread, one called "post your saturday
