unreleased squarepusher

These are nearly all available at watmm:

1. lille 96 10 min clip from the youtube
- hard acid with TJ crazy fiddlin with his gear.

I really like this track as it shows the consistency in TJs
skils and his early flair for subtle vocal elements. Funny
how its all coming full circle 10 years on. The physicality
of him behind his bass/machines is a vital part of what
makes the music so passionate.

2. Liquid 97 mp3... near the end
- its a crazy distorted percussiveness
This track sounds very ad lib to me seeing as it comes at
the end of the gig where he's played tons of HND and BL
tracks with live bass. The guitar disappears for this final
pre-encore assault of washed out hi-hats and hi RPM
spluttering beats.

3. "Direct to mental" from breezeblock liveset 04 and
varioUs "go plastic" tours
- released" on "alive in japan", we get the studio version
on the first breezblock set. It's high on percussion and
hauntingly low-key on melody with a machine-gun funkyness.

4. Angstomm-like track form breezeblock liveset 04 - last
track
- also played at Roppongi on ultravisitor tour. again the
studio version is available and it sees tom continue the
"angstromm" flavoured belters (modern bass guitar off HE is
similar)

5. The 05 tour, usually 2nd or 3rd track
- another acid bass freakout
- the track with the crazy whistling acid and plenty of bass
slapping action. I'd rank this track up there with the next
three in a quartet of ACID/BASS madness

6. Breezeblock 06: first track - acid bass - just brilliant

7 Breezeblock 06: second track - acid bass
- bass turns to keyboard for a punchy little track

7. Electric ballroom 06 2n track - an acid bass killer

8. BBC culture show bass solo
- unbelievable "spainish guitar" style bass playing from
tom. Sound slike 3 guitars to me but you can see him do it
with 1 at youtube.

Any more folks?

Something that annoys me is, when i saw him live (Roskilde
2003) he played a brilliant track. It was in the style of
red hot car/do you know squarepusher, and it was very good
(and short). It had a vocal going "music, music" First
really lov pitch, and then really high pitch.

Does anyone know about it? It's unlreleased as far as i
know.

DirtyPriest:
do you have a recording of it?
perhaps it was a live remix of that track on Vic Acid EP
that has the flangey/distorted vocal "i like the music like
we like the music" or something like that?

fah: LOOK IN WATMM

Unfortunately i don't have a recording of it. But i
completely remember what it sounded like for some reason.

What's the track called that you refer to? I don't know it
actually.

Anyhoo, why doesnt squarepusher make more stuff like that?
I'd love for him to do a pop album.

wait a sec.. horsefactory, "talk about you and me" doesn't
have the vocal "music" in it. *confused*

. innit

It confuses me as well. The track Horsefactory found IS the
track i'm talking about. But when i saw him live, part of
the vocal went over the synth going "neuuu neuu" (feeling
stupid here) and it said "music" as far as i could hear.
Maybe i just heard it that way.

I have no idea how Horsefactory could guess it was that
track, but it was!
