for you? in any respect..preferably a serious one. (what i
mean is not stuff like; beyonce because her hair is curly)

thanks

and maybe leave out the most obvious ones (aphex, ae..), or
add some that aren't commonly talked about here.

thank you!

Since you use the word "interesting", i'd have to go with
John Cage.

right now, I guess Pierre Bastien and Colleen seem pretty
interesting to me, but that's because they're doing a gig
here on saturday. However, I'd say that Bastien seems to
qualify for interesting in other respects as well due to his
machines and Colleen just seems to be making great music!

Other than that I'm not sure if I'd characterise musicians
as interesting.. some times their concepts or characters are
interesting, but when it comes to their music, I rarely find
it interesting as much as I find it pleasing or displeasing
to listen to.

the way they make it, interesting persona..

hmm

I guess we could add basinsky, but something tells me you're
after something new?

I don't really think I can tell you about new
artists, but I can try...

sort mel were playing ståoppjazz here a while back.
They were basically creating lots of small loops using old
christmas- and country-records and then they improvised over
it with guitar, balloons and other small loops.

hmm.. I can just mention the ones I find it likely that some
might find interesting then. I just like them, but I
acknowledge that some of their projects are indeed very
interesting and have interesting ideas behind them. Have you
ever checked out the Exquisite Corpse project from yours truly
and many great artists from around here, btw?

basinsky
alva noto
moondog
moha!
terje isungset

i'm currently investigating trevor wishart. he works mostly
with electro-acoustic composition, or 'sonic art' as he
calls it. apparently he's given lectures at my college, but
i've not seen them.

he's also created some music software, most notably
'sound loom', but i've not had a chance to play around
with it yet.

check out his website if you're interested.

Blaine L. Reininger of Tuxedomoon and Alfred Schnittke of...
Alfred Schnittke. Long jagged careers and I seem to love
every release, regardless of where it zigged or zagged.

It's hard to separate the most interesting musicians
from my favourite musicians, but here's some musicians I
think have a certain virtuosity, have defied conformity and
excelled in an impressing variety of styles:

Brian Eno
Steve Reich
Richard D. James
Noe
Jim O'Rourke
Thom Yorke
Moondog
Tom Jenkinson

all idm musicians are intersting, they have a sack or
ladysack to make music they find interesting and promote it,
not matter how big or small the artist is
