hey everyone,

just thought i'd bring an update on what's going on.

i've been offered a job interview which may pull me out of
the shit if i get it, and i've been offered somewhere to
stay if need be.

also since i've had all my equipment together (and a decent
amp) i've been doing a couple of tracks. i managed to win an
Atari Falcon030 on eBay, which is much much better than an
Atari STe, and i've been using that to sequence my stuff.

i still don't have a mixer - i'm using splitter cables to
hook everything up! not ideal, but it's dirty and it works.

if i can manage to get my tapes converted to MP3 at a
friend's house i'll try and upload the material.

On behalf of the entire community, who are too overawed to
feel worthy of commenting, I'd like to say:

GOOD LUCK / WELL DONE

! !

I, on the other hand, will say you are a burden on society
and should be extinguished.

Well, good luck with the interview!
Wich kind of work, btw?

You dirty old fag. On a more vital topic, is there any word
on a DVD release of If.... the fact that Garth Marenghi's
Darkplace was released gives me great hope that this jewel
will also be released.

I saw only recently a clip of Garth Marenghi and instantly
ordered it from zee Amazon. RE Lyndsay Anderson films on
DVD, perversly the worst film of the trilogy, "Britannia
Hospital" is avaialble for under a fiver, whereas the
classics... nowhere. But, surely, surely, there will come a
day.

Yeah I have Britannia Hospital on DVD I'm afraid to say, and
I got If.... and O! Lucky Man on VHS but their quality is
deteriorating and I'd like some Docs etc! Fingers crossed
anyway. Oh, and for the starter of this thread as well, of
course.

but more importantly, hows your tb303 and tr808 doing? Did
they make little drum acid synths yet? I was thinking of
selling my mixer to someone, but i'm not sure if i should,
you might find it shit. It's a Roland M-160, analog, 16
channel, 3 sends, 1 aux, 4 returns, and it's a rack mixer. I
bought it for 150 euro's (you might wanna do the math
yourself), and might sell it for a 100. The slider and knob
pots crackle abit cause they might be dusty, never thought
of opening it up and cleaning it. Maybe you're interested in
buying, and maybe i'll be interested in selling.

right at home visting my new website being a fellow Atari
user.

marlowe
thank you sir :)

dog_belch
*kiss kiss*

unabomber
thank you :) i made it to the 2nd interview, so i'll find
out by Friday if i have the job. it's very similar work
along the lines of what i was doing before they made us
redundant. 1st Line IT support.

Fah
the equipment is doing nicely, although the 303 and 606 are
getting a little neglected at the moment - but only due to
the fact taht i've been tinkering around with my MIDI
equipment on Logic. i've done a couple of short little demo
things, if i can manage to get them digitized i'll upload
them for people to listen to. that mixer sounds really
nifty, and would be right up my alley but at the moment i
don't have any money spare. going back and forth from Widnes
to Burton by train has been expensive, and since i currently
have no income it's troublesome. if i manage to get this job
though i'll be sure to get in touch and ask if you're still
considering selling :)

oyvinto
winners don't do drugs

sheffieldbleep
checked out the site, nifty :) can't seem to find any Atari
related stuff though.
if i manage to get some more beefy material done, i'll
submit some to ya ;)

Didn't see this thread till now. Good news Oscillik, hope
you get the job and it works out for you.

On the subject of mixers, soundcontrol are doing the
Behringer UB802 6 channel mixer for just £39. Could be an
ideal stop-gap mixer for you.

thanks mate, i hope it does too. all this uncertainty is
very very worrying.

hmm i still have my heart set on getting a Yamaha MG16, but
at the moment i'm using cable splitters to get all my
instruments into my amp...that Behringer does sound like the
ticket.

thanks for letting me know about that :D

The old one was a rip of the old Atari ST GUI!

Dude. Before you get anything else, you need a mixer. That
is dire. Your not even going to be able to enjoy any of the
sound from all that classic analogue without a mixer. Even a
cheap one is better than none.

From what I see, you are better suited to run a music
hardware store that to actually making music.
